Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles hello guys happy holidays I hope you are in the spirit to sing and party and dance cuz I know I am today I'm doing a fun video that is for my 2018 absolute favorites so I literally sat down I went through everything that I wore listen used 8 red and chose the top 3 to 5 things down I think has been really amazing and just just benefit in my life this year you know so the first category is makeup you guys know that I'm trying a lot of different makeup all the time and these are my top 1 2 3 4 4 products that I used almost every single day this year so the first one is this Lily Lolo mascara and black this is an all natural mascara that I actually ordered because a recommendation from a follower on Instagram you guys with the best I ordered it and to be honest at first I was like I don't get it but then when I did my trick which is to let the mascara dry a little bit and then I started using it it was amazing so when I say let it dry oh me like to open it and just put it on the shelf for like two days I literally mean that before I would apply it I was just gonna shake it and then it gets a little dry it gets a little more clumpy ER and then it actually gives you like a volume clumpy or like not Columbia it just gives you more like and just sticks more you know I actually hate like new mascaras the consistency is so slick and smooth and I just feel like they're not building that like volume on the lashes so I prefer them dry so the two concealers that I've been using together this year are the RMS and the nude by nature so the nude by Nature has a little more pinkish pigment and if you guys watch my model hacks that everyone should know you will understand why I'm using it using a concealer that has a slightest pinkish or reddish tone to it will help to balance that blackness off and then you can put your light concealer on and it literally just neutralizes that circles so as a mom to a newborn and as someone that was pregnant and barely slept as someone with kids a young woman and society today they're trying to build a career and take care of the home and exercise and all that stuff dark circles are definitely there so these has been my absolute Savior and a lot of the fact that both of them are actually natural products so win-win and then last but not least is this awesome product that I've used really fast this year I bought it already three times and this is the tinted blur stick from nude sticks this is the easiest absolute easiest thing to have on hand when you just want that no makeup makeup look this does an amazing job to not feel like foundation on but to give enough coverage for you to feel comfortable in your own skin and I love just how easy it is to use this product is this chubby stick you can put it anywhere and you just kind of put it on your skin you tap it you mush it you you can use your fingers to spread it on your skin and then you're good to go it literally tints all the imperfections these are my absolute favorites in the makeup category as you can see I really stuck to essentials and basics and something that I've been definitely on a rotation for me this year and then we're gonna move to skin care the first product that you probably seen on my Instagram story is I've already purchased it like four times is this bio sense schooling and vitamin C Rose oil this is from Sephora and I use it as my nighttime oil I absolutely love it there's no like screaming marketing stuff around it just a really good product the formulation looks great and I love how amazing it absorbs on my skin for oils you want to make sure that your skin really drinks it and I find that the rose and the vitamin C just I can really human skin glowing and feeling healthy so really been loving this and I use about three to four drops every night or just tap it on my skin big big fan I can't wait to try other products from this company in general but so far this is definitely on the top of my recommendation list but it doesn't it keep the next product that I've been using quite a bit this year is the Tata Harper resurfacing serum this is a great serum for girls that are having their 20s that don't need anything with to anti-aging was strong but just need something that will supply the right ingredients to feed your skin and just keep on that maintenance and just youthful glow so been loving this and I've been using this every day in the morning and then the last but not least is the Cora organics tumeric brightening and exfoliating mask so to be completely honest with you this was gifted to me and at first I tried it and I was like it's okay like there's nothing really too special about it but then I spoke to Miranda Kerr and she was telling me how she was using this in the shower it has peppermint oil in it and it has a lot of very refreshing kind of ingredients in it so then I did that and it became my ritual I think that the effect of the tumeric and the peppermint oil in the shower when they're steamed and kind of opens your pores so it really lets all those ingredients to go in I really saw a difference after so this is kind of my post gym routine twice to three times a week I'll use this mask while I'm in the shower I'll put it on I leave it for like five minutes maybe even last three to five minutes and then I'll just do the exfoliating part and just wash it off I feel like it really takes up all the you know sweat and dirt out of my skin and my skin feels really refreshed and then we're gonna move to the haircare category and here I only have two products so the first product is their Bree OG oh don't despair repair strength and moisture living mask this is a great easy mask to put on so when I go to the gym my hair is already dirty you're sweating anyway so I'll just put this in my hair I'll put it in a bun and there I go I love this product because again it's pretty clean it does the trick my hair does feel clean and shiny after it so yay for Bo she'll and then the second product is this way hair oil so guys this I've had look how much I still have this of hats and probably 2016 literally when I started my social media journey I had a PR company that sent this to me and I still use it like it's been almost three years now because you need so little for it and this is just a really great staple hair oil to apply after the shower so when my hair is wet and I dry it in the towel I put literally one to two pumps and I'll just put it on my ends and spread it kind of around my hair and it smells good it's really easy to use it soaks in it keeps the hair moisturize and a little bit goes a long way this is definitely been a favorite of mine to use and then we're gonna move to the books I actually have three books that I really really love this year two of them I gave to my friends to read that's something that I do once I love a book I'll pass it on so I don't have to show it to you but the third I have so first let me talk about the first one which is the year of the S by Shonda Rimes if you watched any of my favorites I used to do the favorites video every month I stopped doing those but in my favorites I mentioned that book before and Shonda Rimes is such a force in the whole media and TV industry the book is so real it's so authentic it's such a wonderful book that I actually gave that book through our night nurse that was with Max when he was born Cheryl I hope you're enjoying the book the second book that I really liked is the untethered soul let me see who wrote that because I forgot so the untethered soul is by Michael a singer and that book is just it's a cult favorite I feel what anybody kind of into self-development and self-help books there's a lot of beautiful lessons a lot of reminders that you can draw from it so that was a wonderful book that if you are passionate about that subject I highly recommend you guys to it and then the first book that I am actually still reading but I am so impressed with it is daring greatly by Renee Brown I actually heard that this is if not even her best book she has a couple of more that's been really good but for me I find that this book speaks to me because I literally picked it up at the perfect timing in my life that I'm at this is really talks about vulnerability and how to be open and courageous and be authentic out there in the world although there's so many things that are trying to shut you know those aspects down it really shows how to parent how to lead how to love openly and really go deep deep into what stopped us and different patterns in our characters it's been really insightful to read this and I am almost done so this has been a really great emotional kind of exposure so those are my top three books that I enjoy this year and that are memorable for me then the next thing let's move to food because food so first thing is the Machoke College and this is from the much reserved company that's been a partner of mine so they come in these packets and it's just really easy to travel with or to throw in your bag and just whenever you need a little pick-me-up you can grab that also really easy to make I'm a huge macho lover and I went through like a coffee stage a little bit but matcha makes me feel much much better also if you are sensitive to caffeine matcha really helps with prolonging death energy spike for like six hours instead of coffee that you're just kind of your blood sugar spikes up and then cry and obviously the amount of antioxidants that are super good for your skin and your body and matcha is just amazing I personally love the matcha reserve just because the quality of their products are really good this has been on my top shelf for a long time now for over a year actually then the next thing that you probably seen quite a bit me using on my Instagram is this seasoning I put this on everything this is from Trader Joe's and it's called everything about the bagel sesame seasoning blend you probably already understand what it is from the title so it's everything but a bagel and who doesn't love everything bagel I put it on my eggs on my toes on my picado on my like everything it's been amazing and then the last but not least is this nutritional yeast that I just learned that I've been saying East instead of yeast so I said it 'yes yes yeah and this is also seasoning this is actually I mean I've known about nutritional yeast for a while now because of my background in holistic nutrition but I feel like I really brought it back into my diet recently and I was like why have I been avoiding this for so long this is a great vegetarian substitution to add flavor and a lot of great vitamins this is really rich in B vitamins which are wonderful for your nervous system so I literally put it on my popcorns I put it on my toast I'll put it anywhere where I feel like I just wanna out of cheese which is basically everything so big lover of this if you guys haven't tried a nutritional yeast get on it and then we have the fashion aspect so the first item that I've been loving this year has been these earrings and I'm sure you know because they've been featured and literally every IG post every edgy story every video I've been wearing them a lot this I bought from like a small Canadian store here this is just the perfect hoops the thickness the size and they were very very affordable the next item that I've been wearing a lot this year I don't even need to I'm just going to show it to you because you know yeah you already know that I'm like a huge lover of sneakers but I bought these common project shoes in the beginning of this year and I don't think there's been an outfit that I haven't worn this with especially during my pregnancy because most of this year was I was pregnant these have been the absolute best they're super easy to clean because they're leather very easy to maintain match everything make everything look cool so yes there are more on the expensive side but I can't even tell you the amount of use I got out of them so it was totally worth it just a classic white sneaker that will never get go out of style and then we have these amazing slip dresses that I got from AirAsia I've been wearing them with every outfit this year they were very helpful during my pregnancy it very easy to style and during the summer and spring and winter so definitely one of the items that have been wearing so much this year and these are also again classics so when I see an item that will serve me for the longest time I will buy it in every color so I the three of them and honestly I'm so happy with myself about this and then we have the podcast I know you guys always ask me about different podcasts that I love so I wanted to feature some of those in because I'm a big podcast lover and I feel like it's a great way to educate yourself to hear new things new ideas while you're doing other stuff or commuting or just taking a walk so my top three podcasts that I love so the first one is from the coop podcast which I like but this specific episode just completely blew my mind and just is so memorable to me so it's the Gwynedd and oprah winfrey podcast together and it was about power perception and sole purpose if you guys haven't heard it it's so amazing and so refreshing and she's so insightful highly recommended then the next one this is a general podcast that I specifically love which is the how I built this with Guy Ross this is from NPR and there's no like specific episode that I absolutely love because every episode is with a different entrepreneur that talks about their entrepreneurial journey and really goes into the knit and grits of like starting that business but I really like the one with Emily vice that was really good so Emily Weiss is the founder of glossier so that was really insightful and really cool and then the last but not least one that I've been loving is the Second Life it's from my domain I have to be honest actually I listen to it a lot in the beginning and mid of this year but I heard some like good episodes from it one more that I wanted to recommend that's not on my list but I remember just being really motivating is the secrets of wealthy women so this podcast is great if you are interested in businesses and building a business and just listening to other people that took the leap of faith and kind of went chasing after their dream career it's very motivating very inspiring and there's some really huge huge founders and people that are on that podcast so it's really cool and then my favorite videos of this year from what we created for you my top three would be the pregnancy transformation which is week by week because it was such a cool idea I'm so happy with it it was a little annoying at times but it just captures perfectly the whole progress of pregnancy and it's so amazing to see how the human body grows another life inside it's crazy so I'm super happy with that and if you guys haven't seen it you can check it out here then the second video that I really like this year was the holiday log book that we did recently for you guys it was really fun because you know how after you create something you look at it and you're like yeah so this was like the first time I was like oh I really like it means a little bit more to me just like fun cool outfits but the editing is amazing the music is amazing Emma killed it and it's just like bring a really cool holiday spirit so I loved it and then the last video that I love this year that we created was the baby mama challenge and it was such a random kind of decision to create that video I remember Gary and I were coming back from brunch and I saw it online like the baby mama dance and I was like this is such a good like written to it we should recreate it and we came home we put the video we saw how people danced to it we heard like the actual lyric sounds like okay we can make it happen and we shot it and it came out to be such a fun video and this is and then I want to finish this video with my absolute favorite moments that were captured on film this year this year has been absolutely life-changing and mind-blowing and a year of growth and realization and I absolutely love 2018 and I cannot wait for 2019 thank you guys so much for being part of my journey and let's see my absolute favorite moments for this year let us start the malaria love festival this is the bang you did it he's good-looking this is your mom he's different he's different the other no come on you know sucks yeah Peter sniper to me noona
