But through all those years, it's been my distinct honor privilege to have been a part of chronicling every step of Daniel and Henrik cities journey with your Vancouver Canucks.

In front of all of our eyes, we've seen boys become men, men become leaders and leaders become legends.

And it's great as they were on the ice, with their creativity, their innovation, their courageous quest to play the game their way.

Daniel and Henrik are even better people off the ice, and that, to me, speaks volumes.

We have many distinguished guests joining the twins on the ice tonight.

But, you know, when they first asked me to come out here and say a few words on behalf of Danny and Hank, my first thought waas to roast him.

But I mean, I don't know why I had that thought in my head, but it could have something to do with the fact that Katzenberg tax would be to roast, um, but nevertheless, put this up here.

I've been to a few of these ceremonies before with Na Z and Trevor and Big Mats and Toronto understand the things that you're supposed to highlight and the things that you're not like when we had all chalk blows the water on the road the night before the game and Danny and Hank would host cheesecake parties in the room for all the Swedes.

I mean, they would drink black coffee, so I guess it's all right.

But you know how we'd all come to our first training camp in really good shape?

Well, Hank never got that memo.

He brought in extra £15 of them and said, but he lost it.

And then there's Danny.

It's got a legitimate candy addiction.

So anyways, I followed their lead and I tried it with Bird.

But I couldn't understand anything he was saying when I gave a warm or try with Roberto, you know, the year he was the captain.

But every time I try to communicate with him, he told me No comment.

But anyways, my point is, the cities were are great athletes.

I know we all know that Daniel recently won the sword and win, but he ran the marathon in sub three hours and Hendrick this one time in Atlanta.

Better the bunch of us that he could juggle a soccer ball 1000 times in a row before practice in the hallway.

I don't know if you remember this.

Can you even hear me?

No, don't worry about it.

But anyways, he juggled the first, like 80 on his forehead like a seal.

And then when he was at, like, six or 700 I just kicked the ball away from him and gave him his money.

But the point is, they're great athletes.

But for me, the three things that I truly admired about these two guys over the years were their accountability, always looking themselves in the mirror first, never pointing the finger, shouldering the blame in the media for the rest of the team.

And that's hard to do in a Canadian market when pressure is high, how hard they worked.

I mean, we've already established the fact they had terrible eating habits.

So, through all the roller blading in the summer and the trail runs and the bike races and the strength trading with Roger Takahashi, they put themselves in a position where they're always the second and third best condition guys on the team.

But anyways, the third quality and the one that stands out to me the most is how kind and genuine they are and how they treated everybody around them.

And if you've ever run into him before, if you've ever run into him before around the city, in a coffee shop or a hockey arena or a Kia, you know what I'm talking about.

These are jokes, but that filters right through their family, their wives, Marinette and Joanna, who have supported them and sacrificed and given so much back to this community through not only their Children's hospital donations, but the City and Family Foundation and Maronites work with C FAC and you know that's been absorbed by everyone around them.

And there's a city in culture to this organization, and it's been absorbed by guys like Alec Sadler, Kristan F.

Jacob Markstrom and our new Captain Boll.

And I've already seen Theo and I've already seen them pass it along to Petey and to Quinn and to Brock, and they'll pass it along to the next generation of core players.

And in 20 years in 20 years, there will still be a sitting flavor to this organization and a city in culture in that dressing room.

And that's something that will transcend any on ice statistics that they have.

So on behalf of all their former teammates, trainers, coaches, management and the people of Vancouver, we're grateful for who you are.

You're the two best players and people to ever wear the cannot Jersey.

We love you guys.

And there's no one more deserving of this honor school theme having me exa.
