[classical violin music] - A beautiful, beautiful coffee, a beautiful view. This is just Paris, just... Ah, Paris. Today... I am... meeting with... Francois, who is... the... as they say, nose for Dior. And we're going to be discussing the new Dior from Dior Homme fragrance. It's the best job in the world. You come to Paris, and Fashion Week. Going to have a delicious dinner, meet some interesting people. I mean, it's not exactly a job. It's like, I should be paying to do this. Cut all that out. [piano music] I'm very excited to be talking to you about the new formulation of the fragrance. It's interesting to look at a culture changing and people changing and then try to imagine what scent they would like. I mean, it's quite an unusual skill to have. I mean, I literally, I would not know what smell anybody would like at any point. - Something quite close is the food. Right now, you don't eat exactly, I'm sure, exactly the same thing that you used to eat, let's say 10 years ago. You still like it but now you try something else. For the perfume it's exactly the same thing. Here are the top notes that we use to season. Top notes are orange and lemon. Also cedar wood. - It's funny, it's a really subtle smell that's very familiar. - A lot of pencils that we use are made with cedar wood. And so the smell, it's a school smell. - Yeah, yeah. Taken in this context, it does smell really delicious. When I was a kid, I did used to eat my pencils all the time, so... Maybe I'm that kind of guy. It's delicious. If the world likes, say, Bergamot, and then you have an ex-girlfriend who used to wear Bergamot all the time, and you personally hate it, and you're like, there's no more Bergamot in any of these things. You have to live your life carefully to avoid hazardous scents. [laughs] [perfume bottle sprays] - Voila. - Merci. It is very delicious. - Thank you. - Thank you very much. Nice to see you again. - You are welcome. - I will go to the show and see you at supper. - Sure. - Nice to see you. - Thank you. [electronic music] [girls screaming] - I'm very excited. I've seen the pictures of the clothes, so I know it's going to be really cool. So I'm excited. - [Female] How do you deal with those crowds? - I'll have passed out onto the superstar. - I think there were more screams 'cause Cara came in before me so she got them all riled up. - Okay, okay. And then they were too exhausted to scream. - Yeah, yeah. [synthesizer music] [applause] [xylophone music] - After the show, there is a dinner at caviar Kaspia to launch the new product, the fragrance which comes out tonight. I really, really like Kim Jones. He's a fun guy, he lives around the corner from me in London. He's very, very fun. Very upset I have to be working the day after the show because his parties go on very late after the show and I'm not allowed to go to it because I have to work the next day. - I am allowed to do that. - You're definitely going to be in it. Wait, you're in it, you're in it. - No. - You're 100% in it. - No, no, no, no. - I feel bad Vogue's filming you for the whole day. - It's very exciting. - Yeah? - Stark concept. [laughs] - Yeah, no, it was very fun. I probably really embarrassed myself, but... It's nothing out of the ordinary. - Enjoy your night. - Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, too. [electronic music]
