We're The Slow Mo Guys, and this week on "The Super Slow Show," we're going to showcase some people at the absolute top of their game. Filming some athletes. Got any clever puns for this week? Ath-leet. Leets? Like "leet," like-- Solid '90s Internet reference. - Yeah. - We've got lucha wrestling, sumo wrestling, basketball, skateboarding-- Yeah, I mean, you say that we've got wrestling. I was doing the wrestling, - the skateboarding-- - Yeah. ...all that stuff like that. You just stood there. - What were you doing? - Moral support. - You're not even good at that. - Never have been. Something that always surprises me is how much movement there is in the human body. Yeah, even people that appear very skinny in real life are actually quite floppy and fleshy in slow-mo. - Yeah, we're mostly liquid, though, right? - Yeah. So what happens if we take it to the extreme and get two sumo wrestlers to spar? Right? Almost a thousand combined pounds of man. ( Dan laughs ) So we got Yama and Byamba, two pro sumo wrestlers. So, guys, how long have you been doing this for? Sixteen years. Wow, that's absolutely incredible. So I think what we should do first-- we'll have you guys go at each other and we'll film it all in slow motion, a thousand frames a second, on our Phantom cameras. Uh... Dan-- Dan loves-- He loves taking on new challenges. Whoa! - Look at that force. - I'm actually sore. Oh, my goodness. He just tossed him. - Like an old sandwich. - Yeah. Yeah. Just picked up a 400-pound guy and lobbed him on the floor. That was incredible. Playback. They just look so planted, like you couldn't move one of them. ( grunting ) The way that they just effortlessly lob each other about. Yeah. And they're both trying not to be lobbed as well, right? That's the idea, yeah. That makes it that much more impressive, that they actually can be able to be lobbed. - Oh, look at the salt it kicks up. - Wow. The flesh moving around as well-- it hits the ground, bounces back off. That's cool. That's the stuff we're after. Love that. ( grunting ) You see how he's, like, slapping him and then, like, lifting the hand away and he's, like, trying to slap him again, lifting the hand away. He's got such big hands, by the way. You see there, at the back, here, of Yama? The flesh was moved around, and it went all the way around to the back of his body. - I'm sure one-- - The hand impact happened, and then it went ( whooshes ) all the way around. I'm sure if you traced it, one palm can be seen, like, going all the way around. God. That arm was moving quite fast. It was. It really was. It was some serious speed. Really picked up at the end. His flesh is still, like, hanging up in the air. It shows you how quick it was 'cause his hand went in, and Yama's flesh was still-- stood there. Slapping faster than gravity. Yeah. Ooh-ah. Oh, the rippling. Skin is just getting moved around. It's almost, like, two animals that are built to go as hard as they can, just these two guys are designed to have that power and hit each other with that force. You're being called upon. I'm ready. You don't look ready. Oh. There we go. I'm definitely ready. Good handful. Is that the tactic? To blind me first? Get a leg up, Dan. There you go. Oh, thanks. I think that means you're doing a great job. All right, okay, that's good. Straight out of the ring. He did that with one hand. He was like, "Get off it." Glad you're laughing. Oh, the impact. I'm getting dissed. God. ( grunts ) ( groans ) Yeah, yeah. Points. Here's your charge. You're giving it all. Look at that ferocity in your eyes. I'm going for it. I have to. Oh, look at my jowls going everywhere. ( laughing ) Oh, man. - Yama: Boom. - ( Gav chuckling ) I'm happy that when we started this channel, remember that conversation I had with you? - Yeah. - And it led to this moment. Oh, man. Who'd have thought? I was like, "Dan, can you help me do something?" Oh, look how high you are. Just lifted me fully up. Yeah. Like picking up a baby. At this point I was just like, "Right, what can I even do about this? The answer is nothing. In your head, were you just thinking, "Something's gone wrong here"? This isn't how it's supposed to be. Oh, man. My skin just getting ripped around. I like the salt flying up as well. - Yeah. - That's great. God, you know, my fingers bounced twice. They're, like, ugh. It's like when someone dies very cinematically, - and it's like... - At that point I was like, "Well, I've lost." You're just like, "Ah..." "That's the end of my sumo career." Yeah. Guess I'm not cut out for it. Thank you, even though I ended up on the floor every time. That was some awesome footage, just sheer power clashing in slow motion. Apart from when I was in the ring, then it was just pathetic. Well, then that it was one side of power and one sort of piece of tissue paper. I was trying so hard. The first time I impacted, I pushed, and I farted. I actually-- I didn't want to say anything 'cause I was just like, "Oh, God." But I couldn't help it. I was just like... ( grunting ) It's like, "Oh, no." To be fair, you did ten times better than what I would've done. Thanks very much, guys. That was a real pleasure. Very good. Excellent performance. - Thank you. - Thanks very much. - Thank you. - Yeah. Hopefully, you enjoyed that video. Feel free to subscribe, and we'll see you in the next episode of "The Super Slow Show."
