Anna: Ooo, OK. Did you guys get some good pictures of the rainbow? Anna: Yes. Nate: This is an intense science experiment here. Grandma: Where's it going? Don't touch the table! Becca: the middle. It's going to get there, just a little bit more. Grandma: Oh yea, it looks like a sunset. Becca's going to eat the Skittle. Nate: Let's see what it tastes like. Grandma: So that's the left-over Skittle. Becca: Not bad. (everyone laughing) Nate: "I think I'll eat all of them!" Grandpa: Dig in! (Life in Japan music) Ruth: So where are we going? (Joshua mumbles): Um, to the beach. Ruth: To the what? Joshua: To the beach! Ruth: To the beach. Ruth: Where are we going Sarah? Sarah: To the beach. Ruth: Yea! Joshua is following along on Google Maps. Grandma: Oh! Thanks for turning the light on! (Sarah laughs) Did you turn the light off? Sarah: No, no, no, no! Nate: Whoa, we made it! We're getting plenty of sunscreen on today, that's for sure, right? Sarah: Yeah. Nate: Yes! OK, wait big guy! Here — I'll come! Is your doll going for a swim? Ruth: Hurry, before the waves come! Hurry! Come on, get on! We love day trips out from Tokyo Beaches, mountains and different things you can get to in one day and come back. Because for us, with such a big family it gets very expensive staying in hotels So anything we can do within a couple hours from us is awesome, like this beach! Ha ha! What a bust! Almost, but not quite. Becca: Hold your nose, hold your nose! Here they come! There they are! Hey Sarah-Bear! Whoa! What do you think? Is it pretty salty? Nate: Everybody's out. Almost everybody. Now that's more like twins. Anna: Look at that! Nate: Switching faces on the phones. Show it to Daddy! Oh my! Nate: We are on a long, overdue date! Grandma and Grandpa stayed with the kids, ha ha ha! Ruth is looking over her choices. Mmmmm! Burgers! Now that dinner's done, it's time to shop. So! We got caught out in the rain! It's a perfectly romantic evening together. Caught in the rain even, ahhhh. It is raining really hard, so what do you do? You play Uno! Yea, there you go! You showed everybody (the card). You have to grab it like this and bring it this way. Ruth: Ok, so this is rare footage, because I'm videoing myself. And I never do this, but... Guess what I'm having right now? (sings) A cup of coffee! We're here today in beautiful Aikawa, We're meeting with friends, having a Brazilian BBQ, a "Churrasco." Nate: Faz Saudades (I miss this!) Oh Sarah! Was it so fun? Sarah: Yea! I want Chocolate cake! I didn't have Chocolate cake but Mommy said it's OK. Nate: OK Anderson: Tem muita gente (There's a lot of people) Nate: Tem (There are) Nate (in Japanese) 16 years old? Wow! Ruth: He's almost 8. Your age! What'cha making Becca-Boo? Becca: A bag. Nate: A bag? Getting sewing lessons with Grandma. Is this all your sewing efforts? Whoa! Grandpa: That's cool. Whoa, what do we have here today? Grandma: Welcome to Paz Church! Nate: I'm pretty sure I want to go in! Yea Daichi! Daichi: Hey guys! Nate: How's it going? Good! Do you like Nate's YouTube channel? I'm a big fan. Yes! Nate: Ha ha! Yes! (Nate and church singing in Japanese) Josiah: So what kind of house would you like your life to live in? Rock house, amen! We're going to one of the girls' new favorite places. To skateboard. Anna, what are we doing here? Anna: Skateboard down the hill. Skateboarding down the hill, huh? This is a fun new thing we tried. Ok, ready? Anna: I'm scared... Nate: Ok, good. A little bit of fear is good. Anna: No, it's not good! AHHHHH!!!! Whew! We did it! Becca: High five!! Now we're switching helmets. Are you ready for this, Becster? Becca: Yes. Nate: Ok, ready? You got this. It's all you. Bye bye! Anna's coming down this side, Becca's coming down this side. (High-five slap) Ha ha ha ha! That was the biggest high-five ever, I think. Becca: That was awesome! It was awesome. (Anna singing) Ruth: Ok, look at me. So Mom, how's the summer homework going here? Ruth: Ahhh, it's horrid. Anna: Horrible. Nate: Horrible?! Ruth: No, they're doing good... ... it's just crunch-time now. Nate: Crunch time! Ahhhhh! Anna: That scared me! Joshua: I got lots of things. Nate: You got lots of things? Joshua: Yes, see? Nate: Are you playing... are you playing Zelda?! Yea, I got lots of things! Nate: Oh my goodness, who's playing the piano?! You're killing' it! This is dad and mom's last dinner with us before they go back to the States so we're going to take them to a Chinese Ramen restaurant that we really like. Yes! Ramen! Ok, we looked at what we want. Becca: 1... 2... 3... (beep) Oh, you like Curry? Grandma: And what's this? Sarah: This? Corn! Can you eat all of this food? Anna: I don't know. Nate: I hope you're hungry. Ruth: I don't know what you'd say that is. It's like a radish. Grandma: Radish? It's like a radish. We got our ramen, and everybody's diggin' in. Whew!!! Nate: Gyoza! Grandma: Yoza? Nate: "Gyo" — with like "Gi-yo" "Gyoza" Those are very good. And Josh! You love your rice, huh man? (Joshua nods) Oh yeah! Nate: Oh, the little... oh, they're crunchy? Sarah: They're little chips. You ate all the curry. You ate all the noodles. And now it's just the corn left? How 'bout you, Becster? Becca: "Don don" Nate: We came, we saw, we conquered. You want to try and put it on there. Oh, there you did it! This is the big send-off breakfast! Breakfast sandwiches. Boy, they look and smell "delish!" Nate: Who's going to pray? Should we have Grandpa pray? Grandpa: Sure. Nate: Ok, Grandpa will pray, ok? Grandpa: Lord Jesus, thank you for this food... We bless you, in Jesus' name, amen. Everybody: Amen! Yea, saying "goodbye" is never an easy part, is it? You're like a plate. Do you know what "plate" is in Japanese? Sarah: No. Nate: "Sara" Sarah: What?!!! You ready for a picture, big guy? Ruth: That was fun! Grandpa: Ruth, thank you so much! Big hugs! The bus is here. Ok big hugs for Grandpa too! Grandpa: Can't wait to see you next time. Grandma: No, I don't think we have to go right now. Nate: Yea, it is time. Grandpa: I love you!
