Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles I have made my Executive Producer Andy try a lot of different things. And he's been average at all of them. So I thought I'd find an activity that I knew he would be amazing at. I'm kidding. I sent him to be a chef at Benihana. And here's what happened. [MUSIC PLAYING] He's an executive producer on the Ellen Show. He works hard everyday. He's super duper awesome at what he does. But he's average in every other way. Ooh, hot. Yeah, it's ready. [SPEAKING JAPANESE] I am a master Benihana teppan chef. And I'm Andy. How are you? Can I-- you this way, too? Thank you. You know, every day when we come in to Ellen, she makes us bow to her. We have to bow, but much lower. All right. Final one. All right, one more! Right, Japanese helicopter! You're really making this your show, huh? How about that? Yes, that's good job. Hoo! Caliente! And we cut hot potatoes, crimp it, and butterfly, and cut hard, and push it out. And then cut, and cut that. Yeah. Let's race. Butterfly. There you go. All right, good. Ow! I'm good. No, good. OK, now, after that, we're going to produce the shrimp. What? Oh, so, you've got to bring it back. OK, yeah. You came to my house. Oh, that's hot. Yeah, so what's happening now is I'm bleeding and I'm burnt in the face. But I'm learning. We're going to start cooking fried rice. Yeah, I'll just-- I'll let you know if I bleed out. But for now, we'll just keep going. Let us do the fried rice. No knife. We focus spatula. Yeah, still bleeding. But we're going to keep going. Yeah, funny to you. Oh! Because I am losing-- I thought you were just joking. Oh, no, not joking, not joking. But Ellen said I'm not allowed to take a break. So-- OK, now, we're going to make heart. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, heart. And you clean it up a little. There you are. Thank you. Is that burned? I don't I need an emergency room. I'm good. They're going to take care of it. You do your thing. Hoo, a little lightheaded. But when you lose that much blood, it's to be expected. Hello. Hi. Hey! I'm Andy, your chef for today. And this is my mentor. Many people would say that I am now the master and he is the student. What are your names? Sandy. Sandy. Lennon. Look how handsome you are. Journey. Ah, I'm sorry. It's hot. Where's my knife? I have a knife. We're going to start-- I'm nervous. You have these-- Yeah, I know. Yeah, I know what I have. Not in in front of the customers. All right, so we like to get a good, hot oil. I'm going to tell you right now, you're going to want to sit back. I'm going to be real honest with you, OK? OK, so we're going to the onion now. So have you ever seen a volcano? Oh, you're bored already. OK, so you see what's happening right here, kids? I'm building a mountain. And I'm hoping you guys have about four to five hours. Cause that's what it's going to take. Not every volcano is perfect, just like life. Because right now, things are good, right? You guys have a good life, great parents. Eventually, life is going to bite you in the ass. And so, like my life, this volcano is imperfect. And that is my lesson. Ready, kids? Journey! Journey! And that is the fire of life, Journey. This is exactly-- think about 17 years, this is how Ellen looks at me every single day. Do you know who Ellen is? You like her? Of course you do. Journey, this one's for you. Ready? Enjoy that, Journey. Don't eat that, OK? A lot of people don't know that a rare shrimp is really good. Do you guys like egg rolls? Yes. Yeah. Here's an egg roll. Nailed that. Watch this, my sous-chef will spin. Boom, boom! Yeah, yeah, yep. So really what's happening here is we are marrying flavors. In the same way life is a journey of marriage, it doesn't always work out. They're saying now only 50% of the time. But what we're going to learn today is that no matter what, kids, this is the big reveal, anything is possible as long as we have love in this beating heart. You'll validate their parking? [MUSIC PLAYING] He's average in every other way. [APPLAUSE] Oh, Andy, thank you. And thank you Benihana. They want everyone here to enjoy a meal that's not cooked by Andy. So you're all getting a dinner for two at Benihana. [APPLAUSE] We'll be back. Hi, I'm Andy. Ellen asked me to remind you to subscribe to her channel, so you can see more awesome videos, like videos of me getting scared, or saying embarrassing things, like ball peen hammer, and also some videos of Ellen and other celebrities, if you're into that sort of thing. Ah! [BLEEP] God! [BLEEP]
