  • Past psychological issues from traumas and difficulties and challenges and neglect,

  • they are lodged in our psyche, they're lodged in the energetic patterns

  • of the body, and they affect and imbalance our chakras. Take, for example,

  • the heart chakra. If you were abandoned or rejected or neglected or you lost a parent

  • at a crucial time in your life, that may have affected the energetic

  • programming of your heart chakra. The effect of that could show up

  • in your relationships, could show up in your ability

  • to be vulnerable, or just the ability to go through life with an open heart.

  • And as we look at these blockages in the heart, we can see that someone may

  • have overcompensated, making an excessive chakra,

  • meaning that if they didn't get enough love, they have to be the center

  • of attention, and have to be social all the time. Or they may have gone deficient,

  • which is an avoidant response, saying, "Well, I'm just not going to

  • have relationships. I am just going to isolate and be alone."

  • But both of these are a type of imbalance in the chakras. When the chakra

  • is balanced, we are compassionate, we're loving, we're generous,

  • we feel spacious inside, and relaxed and connected

  • inside to ourselves and outside to what's around us. The problems of stress,

  • anxiety and depression have their signature in the energetic processes

  • of the body. We might have too much energy and not know how to control it.

  • We might have too little. And this can show up in physical problems

  • as well. So take an imbalance in the root chakra, our chakra of survival.

  • That can often show up as weight issues, being chronically overweight

  • or underweight. The overweight would be an excessive defense, saying,

  • "I don't feel safe unless I have a big body to store all this energy."

  • Or being underweight might be saying, "I don't really want to be on the

  • earth plane. I want to be light." And each of those are a kind of unbalance.

  • When the chakra comes into balance, we have a sense of grounding, stability.

  • We feel healthy. We feel alive. And it helps to keep that grounding

  • to make prosperity in our lives as well. So a simple way to remember your ground is

  • to stop and feel your legs as the roots that go down into the earth.

  • Take a breath, bend your knees, push your feet into the ground.

  • Roots push down into the earth, so push your feet into the ground,

  • say thank you for this life. Now, chakras work with energy.

  • Energy is inside us and it's all around us. So part of healing and healing

  • the spirit is to heal that universal connection between inside and out.

  • So take the heart chakra, one aspect of it is compassion,

  • the ability to feel with, to have passion with.

  • When we have judgement of ourselves or someone else, we're not

  • in that compassion. So you might look at what trait do you typically judge

  • in yourself? Where did that trait come from? And how can you look at what it was

  • trying to do at the time and bring some forgiveness to that trait?

  • Through applying simple practices from yoga, from bioenergetics,

  • from the study of psychology, and practices that we do out in our world,

  • in interactions with other people, we can bring the chakra system as a system

  • for wholeness back into balance once again. So if you want to learn more

  • about these simple practices for addressing your wholeness through mind,

  • through body, through the energetic processes of the body, through psyche,

  • then join me in this free masterclass with Mindvalley. I'll see you there.
