Hello world, this is what living rooms around the world are like Alright Aiko, what's the first video? First is Debora in Italy And she likes playing with lightsabers Well, not in the video Hi, I'm Debora, and this is what an Italian living room is like I think my living room has got a quiet Italian look because it has lots of wood furniture and it's very simple and rustic Lots of my living room furniture has been made by my father like this structure right here In our living room, we have quite a few pictures on the walls There are also some African frogs Their names are Armando, Giangianni, and Pigrizia In winter we save money with this fireplace and I think it's very useful for creating the atmosphere too These are from Puglia and they are typical, local houses called Trulli And last, but not least, this is a prize, a trophy that I won last weekend in a natural lightsaber tournament because I do a very uncommon sport called lightsaber combat and we actually fight with a replication of lightsabers So what's the next video? Mae in Cambridge, in England And what's your favourite part? I love the tea part Yep, I think this one's the cutest submission Hello world, my name is Mae Where I'm from in Cambridge, England this is what a living rooms is like When visitors come, we bring them straight in there Let's have a look This, is a sofa Most people in England have one... or maybe more It's where we relax, watch films, and watch TV When we have guests, we sit and drink tea When we have lots of guests you could sit on this stool, like so In England, we decorate with ornaments or photos Mum didn't like ornaments so we mostly decorate with photos This one is my favourite one because it reminds me of a holiday that I went with my Dad In our house, we have curtains to cover the windows but in some homes, they have blinds There's only one light per room in England And we are really lucky because we have French doors that open out into our garden so we can play on sunny days outside This is our dining table. This is where we eat, draw, and do our homework Some people have a separate dining room, but mum turned ours into a study We have three pets. Two hamsters that we keep down here called Hermione and Mary and we also have a budgie called Sayuri We let her out whenever we're in Thank you for watching our video! And the next video Krystan and Thomas in Salt Lake City in the United States Yep, and they really like their carpets and rugs Hello, my name is Krystan And my name is Thomas And we are currently living in Draper, Utah, which is just outside of Salt Lake City This one is an open floor plan concept, which means our living room is built as the centre of our apartment Then you have your kitchen, your bedroom, and your bathroom attached to it Another thing that might be different than the apartments back by you guys is that we have carpeted floors And not only do we have carpeted floors but we choose to use a rug to cover over our higher traffic areas We also have a ceiling fan, which not all apartments have them We didn't have them in our old apartments We actually had to use lamps to help illuminate the whole room, like the one in the corner behind the TV And the next video Avril in Marseille, France Avril! It's April Oh! Yeah, and she's super vintage, she likes her old stuff Yep Hi, my name is Avril I live in Marseille, in the south of France and this is what my living room look like My living room has no separation between living, dining, and working room As a student I have a pretty big living room and I'm really happy about it The principle element of a French living room is the couch No couch, no living room As you can see, I really like Star Wars and Pokemon In France, we also like book shelves, and as you can see, I love books and comics Another thing about old French apartments is that we have really, high ceilings Really high! We saw lots of videos around the world and some things stuck out to us and one of them was... Fireplaces! And what about the fireplaces? Well, almost every house, there are fireplaces and they're like brick, or like cement, or lots of, like you know on top of TVs You have a TV on top of it Yeah, people like putting stuff on top of it Greek houses that are for sale often have a fireplace So big, open room like this have usually a fireplace I use mine as a shelf Here's some shelves so you put everything So people didn't seem like they used their fireplaces that much But they like to use it in winter I also love the fact that we have a fireplace So, when the winter comes, we can snuggle around the fireplace And there's a fireplace Do we ever use that thing? Only at Christmas time Now, we did get one person who actually uses the fireplace to heat their home though Finally, our wood stove is in the corner, connected to the chimney Next, we want to talk about carpets In America, it seems like it's popular Hello Aiko and Shin, where we're from this is our living room in Western New York In the other countries we saw, we didn't see any carpets in living rooms But they had carpets They had carpets? What kind of carpets? Well, little carpets Oh, rugs, yeah, you're right. So they had rugs over top of like laminate or tile... In the living room area you mostly always can find a carpet, like a pretty huge carpet Our floor is mostly tile, just like the rest of our house We noticed that some people like putting desks in their living rooms And they like putting their computers on it Work, work, work! Or play. Minecraft? Something that's pretty different, I guess, in my house is that we got a kind of office in the living room And in that corner I have the computer So this is my work place We saw lots of rooms with cute pets in them So this is what our living room in Draper, Utah looks like That is a ? And who's that little thing on the pink thing? Grumpy Watching all the videos, I started to realize that it's kind of hard to pin down the concept of a living room Some people used it to entertain guests, some people used it for eating, some people used it to study even and some houses even have separate rooms for each one of these functions I would say that my living room is pretty big, pretty open, because there's no separation between the kitchen area and the living room area This living room is mostly used for formal things, such as parties like in Christmas and New Years Any other day, we're probably using this living room because it has the TV, the Wii, and the DVD As you can see this is the dining room and over here, this is the living room In most living rooms, they have sofas, and TVs, and a coffee table It is usual to have couches and a centre table Couches are always placed around a coffee table and they usually face a television There is a TV Another principle element of living rooms in France is the TV Mine is actually older than me, but it still works I like the style of the Lithuanians. They were always ready for guests Mostly, table is always set, because you always can have unexpected guests Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye Thank you for watching our video! What are living rooms like where you're from? Hey Aiko, she stole your line! Oh that's fine, she was cute Yeah, she was. What do we want to see in the next video? We want to see what are kitchens like around the world Yeah, so please let us know what a kitchen is like where you're from and we'd love to see some countries we haven't seen before, or some places, like I want to see Hawaii Hawaii? Okay, I want to see, maybe some countries in Africa, or India, or some other places in Asia To submit your video, follow the link in the description or the info icon And, thank you for making all these videos, and we love it, and sorry we couldn't put all the videos, but we're going to watch it all, and then, yep, we loved it Okay, thanks for watching! See you next time, bye! Did you say, "See you next time?" Kind of, "See you next time, bye" Bye Bye Done, [indecipherable] I just touched it and it went bebebebe You broke the bananas! Well, I just went like this, I went like this, "ping, bebebebe" Nooooooo! Ow. Bye!
