Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hi. I'm Michael Rooney, and I'm the choreographer for the "Beekeeper's Daughter" for the rock band, The All-American Rejects. The concept was quite interesting because, in the treatment, when the director gave me what he wanted, some of my stuff was already in there. Like, there was some visuals from 500 Days of Summer. There was visuals from other videos that I had done, plus a little bit of West Side Story and Jerome Robbins going on in there. And we had 32 dancers. We had 80 extras. And we were looking for all types. The very first dance section that we did in the video, the director-- Isaac Rentz, who filmed this amazingly-- wanted the first hook of the song to have an amazing explosion of dance, like the city comes alive. Tyson, the lead singer of the band The All-American Rejects, he's a huge fan of dance. He was sending me dance references, which I thought was amazing because usually the band members are like, oh, the director will take care of it, or the choreographer will take care of it. He was sending me references from Martha Graham. He was sending me YouTube links of other people's work that he liked. It was amazing because I was told that he wanted to really have dance, have this be like the main thing that carries the whole video through. But when I saw this final edit, I was in complete shock because it's not only married the rock band, but it married the choreography. I was thrilled when I saw this. So bravo to the record company and to Tyson and to Isaac Rentz, the director. He was amazing. [MUSIC - ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, "THE BEEKEEPER'S DAUGHTER"]
