  • I was browsing I'll start or GE and came across an important update indicating three key changes to the listening exam.

  • These were rolled out on the Fourth of January 2020.

  • Firstly, what were once called the four sections of the exam are now called parts.

  • So you're listening.

  • Audio will make reference to part 123 and four.

  • Secondly, there will no longer be a part.

  • One example.

  • I'm not exactly sure what motivated this change, as the example allowed the test taker to acclimatize to the speaker's accent and cue themselves for how the audio and answer sheet a line.

  • It's an unfortunate change, but regardless, you should absolutely take this into account in your preparation and expectation for the exam.

  • Thirdly, and finally, the exam audio will no longer include page references.

  • So, for example, where the audio may at one time have said now, look at questions 1 to 6 on page three, it will now only say Now, look at questions 1 to 6.

  • It's a minor change, but still one that's worth being aware of.

  • I hope that quick video helped bring you up to speed.

  • Do these changes affect your test taking strategy.

  • Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

  • Thanks for leaving a like and I'll see you next video.
