With prices so low that only big bull gators bring good money, Willie knows it's simply too dangerous to hunt alone. WILLIE EDWARDS: Ready? LITTLE WILLIE: Yup. WILLIE EDWARDS: Let's rock and roll. NARRATOR: At 6' 2", Little Willie towers over his Daddy, but he's brand-new to gator hunting. --for the Edwards family. --and everything to make a living. And I'm ready for it. NARRATOR: Today's mission? Schooling Little Willie on an Edwards family secret technique, treble hooking. NARRATOR: Willie's are home-made, an Edwards family tradition. [GATOR THRASHING] [GUNSHOT] That's a bull right there! That's how you got him. LITTLE WILLIE: First time of throwing a hook like that by myself and hooking him by myself. That's-- that's a gold. Big ol' gator. WILLIE EDWARDS: You got him, boy, you got him! A big one! LITTLE WILLIE: And I accomplished my goal today and I feel pretty good about it. First alligator, now. WILLIE EDWARDS: And he's a brute. Man, a monster! NARRATOR: As day one comes to a close on the swamp, at the buyer Professor Willie is handing out grades. And after a rough start, his son's earned an A. WILLIE EDWARDS: 11' 6". LITTLE WILLIE: Thing was pulling like a bull. Yes, indeed. [RELAXED COUNTRY MUSIC PLAYING] Seem like just here a couple years ago, he's putting diapers on. And it's-- wouldn't change nothin' in the world for it.
