  • Hey tech lead here.

  • And today we're looking at the new Samson No.

  • Nine compared to the iPhone 10.

  • The Samson No.

  • Nine was just released, and it is arguably the best representation of all that Andrew can do.

  • These are both $1000 phones, flagship models of Android versus IOS, and we're going to see which one is better, and I'll give you a hint.

  • As someone who has been using I West for the past five years, I think the Sampson don't nine smokes dia phone 10.

  • I'll tell you why.

  • So, first of all, the known nine is larger than the iPhone 10.

  • It is wider.

  • Participate and then it is taller, as you can see.

  • But the great thing about the note nine is there's no notch on it.

  • It's such a clean design.

  • I haven't turned on the other hand, has a notch.

  • I've never quite gotten used to the notch, even though I've been using for by year or now, and a lot of APS don't really seem to make use of the notch very well.

  • It's usually that space, so the note nine screen looks great, doesn't have the notch.

  • This green goes edge to edge.

  • Make an absolute, really full screen where, as you can see that the iPhone 10 screen still has a bit of a basil on the site, not on menu respects.

  • These two funds are very similar.

  • They're both waterproof.

  • They both have two cameras on the back.

  • They got a camera on the front.

  • They're both very powerful.

  • They're flexion models.

  • They're going to be able to run any app very well, both of these half face I D.

  • But the Note nine also has the eye scanning IRA society, as was a convenient thumbprint reader.

  • I'm really excited about the return of the thumb print reader because on the iPhone 10 many times I have to bring my face over to take a look at it to get it to scan my face and quite the number of times it doesn't scan will and I don't have to input my passcode anyways.

  • So with a note nine, there's two additional ways to unlock your phone instead of just using face I D performance.

  • Weston, though, has a course versus iPhone six course, and they have six kicks of Ram versus iPhones, three Gigs of Ram so on paper, the note night is more powerful.

  • Of course, these are running different operating systems and then practice.

  • I found Brother these fast, but as I tried launching similar APs, I found that the note nine could often beat out the iPhone 10.

  • Like if I were to launch the Twitter app to read a AP Facebook YouTube.

  • Oftentimes the note nine will come out faster than the iPhone.

  • 10 have second to a second faster, of course, over up.

  • Whether these phones are going to be very fast.

  • Both of these screens are using old let technology.

  • They're very nice in terms of pixel density.

  • The Note nine has about 10% higher pixel density than the iPhone tent, so things are just going to look crisper and sharper on the note.

  • Nine.

  • Samson's a 6.4 inches versus iPhones, 5.8 inches.

  • So I would say 1/3 the same price.

  • Well, then, why not get the bigger one?

  • It's nicer to use if you used your phone a lot like I do throughout that, they checking YouTube videos, checking your email, Twitter instagram, browsing Web sites.

  • Then the bigger screens is generally going to be nicer to have, even though it is going to fit in your pocket a little bit bigger.

  • Like I would say that the iPhone pen is a great size.

  • I don't really want it much bigger than this because then it starts feeling a bit bookie in my pocket.

  • But if you're the same price personally, I might just pick the bigger screen.

  • And especially since this doesn't have a notch with that stress.

  • Extra bonus.

  • Now, what makes the note nine really special is that it has a stylist pen included.

  • And this pen is just a lot of fun.

  • Like I can draw things on the Eiken, take notes and personally for me.

  • I find that maybe once a week I actually need to take a piece of paper and a pencil and start writing notes, maybe a phone number, a dentist appointment or something like that.

  • And with this, I can just start job.

  • They knows throughout that they and I would say that decides that this phone makes it perfect for writing down notes.

  • You don't want the two small so that you have space to write, and I think that over time people have sort of forgotten how to use a pen and paper.

  • I got back into drawing.

  • I got into brainstorming sessions throughout the day and wrote down notes.

  • If I'm in the meeting, I could just start writing notes here.

  • I think it looks really unprofessional.

  • If I'm trying to tap in notes on the phone like it's slow, it doesn't look good.

  • But if I'm just taking a few notes, I find that type much faster, using a pen and stuff trying to type on the smart keyboard.

  • I like how Sanson has made this pen really easy to use.

  • Like there's a bunch of shortcuts to start creating notes.

  • You can screen, shot your screen and start jogging on the screen as soon as you pull out the pen.

  • The APP asks you what you want to do with this pen.

  • There's a bunch of shortcuts for creating to note that you may want to do and then just a remote button on this pen, which can be configured to do a bunch of different things, like one crate of uses.

  • You can use this to trigger the shutter on your camera.

  • Personally, I found the stylist to be a ton of fun, and I found myself wondering if one day in the future every phone will have a little stylist attached to it so that people can draw things.

  • Draw little notes, drop pictures, diagrams.

  • Often you'll find that picture can communicate ideas much faster than words.

  • You know what they say.

  • A picture's worth 1000 words.

  • Let's talk about ports and little bit.

  • First of all, there's no Knight has a headphone jack.

  • We're just great.

  • IPhone 10 doesn't.

  • The other thing is that this is using a standard USB seaport with the standard USP Seaport.

  • I was able to do so much with this phone.

  • I could be watching YouTube Video and then plug this into my TV using HD and my cable to U.

  • S B C adapter.

  • And then I had to continue watching the video on the TV.

  • I could also plug in the SD card reader and start downloading videos and photos from my camera onto this phone, and this phone could also redraw files.

  • If you wanted to do the same thing on the iPhone, you'd have to buy a separate cable like a lightning to SD card reader cable which will run your 30 bucks using the USB seaport.

  • I was also able to plug in an external keyboard and just start typing really long messages.

  • If I wanted to, I could even plug in the mouse and then the cursor with appear on the screen.

  • I could start navigating, perhaps using a standard mouse.

  • I've always thought that the iPhone Selfie camera is pretty narrow.

  • It doesn't show enough of the background and usually just shows your face.

  • Samson's is 30% whiter, and they also includes something called the white selfie mode, where it can do a panorama while you're in the selfie move so you can even show more of the background.

  • And I think that's a great feature to have.

  • Otherwise, I thought that both cameras were pretty someone tested in the variety of situations based on the samples I took.

  • I would say that the note now intends to have a little bit more over processing it.

  • The noises.

  • The photo's a little bit too much so that you lose some details in the skin.

  • I think that the exposure majoring on the iPhone was more balanced in general.

  • They're not my intended to have slightly more difficulty capturing a scene like maybe highlights will be more overexposed.

  • If there was a face in the scene, it may have had a little bit more difficulty finding that face.

  • The note nines further has tended to be slightly more contrast in.

  • Maybe the other white balance would have been slightly off a little bit.

  • Here and there, I feel intense white balance and exposure Major intended to be a little bit more reliable, I thought.

  • But overall, both phones were great.

  • In my opinion, I found in dark lighting scenarios the note nine really began to outshine the iPhone 10.

  • With its 50% brighter lens, capturing more detail with less noise with over our Richard colors in low light conditions.

  • And probably overall, the biggest difference is gonna be that 30% wider.

  • Fear the view for the selfie mode and slightly more D noisy and smoothing for the note.

  • Nine.

  • Compared to the iPhone tent, as far software goes, the note Niners run your android a 90.1 Oreo on the larger screen.

  • You can really take advantage of all the multitasking abilities like I was able to run multiple APs at the same time, I could run to absent split view, pin another app as overlay window and be playing the YouTube video and pip mode all at the same time.

  • So I would have essentially four APS on the screen at the same time.

  • And it was a beautiful experience for me.

  • I really enjoyed being able to play a YouTube video in Pitt moved while I could be servant in that we're browsing my email.

  • This is in stark contrast to the iPhone 10 which can still run only one nap at the same time.

  • And then you have to switch abs here and there like if you're playing that YouTube video on the iPhone 10 you can't really exit the Yep, you just have to run this one app the whole time.

  • You know there's no pip mode.

  • There's no split screen.

  • One thing to know, though, is that Andrew's news version, Android nine Pie just came out, and that's not quite yet supported on the note.

  • Nine.

  • So, due to the timing, the Note nine shipped with Android eight and 709 Android nine basically add some new navigational features, which makes switching apse a little bit more comfortable, similar to the iPhone tendon style.

  • But overall, I found that the at navigation on the Andra Day was fine, just as well.

  • In terms of software, my only complaint was I may have some accidental mishaps, and this may just be because I'm used to iPhone 10 stop.

  • But if I do this gesture, why scroll the page?

  • Hold it?

  • Scroll, hold, scroll, hold.

  • When I hit the top or bottom of the page, it would actually register a tap, and I would accidentally be tapping on pages and links that I didn't mean to with the android.

  • You also end up having some additional, but where on this you can easily ignore it.

  • So you do end up having Sampson's version of an Internet browser, Samson's email reader, a few additional Samsung APS, but most of the time you can ignore it.

  • And then the other annoying thing is right where your thumb is.

  • There's this extra button.

  • It is Sampson's big speed button, which is their voice assistant.

  • Bixby generally isn't going to be as developed as, say, the Google assistant or cirie for iPhone 10.

  • So this is pretty annoying, and I find myself accidentally tap into is quite a number of times.

  • And yeah, it's just kind of annoying little button that you can't really reprogrammed this one.

  • Other than that, this has great battery life, at least on paper.

  • It's like 40% more battery life than the iPhone 10.

  • I did find this unit starting to get a little bit warmer in my hands when I began using him for long periods of time.

  • So even though there is liquid cooling in here that the vice those sort of warms up a little bit.

  • And then I did test the speaker's.

  • Both had great speakers.

  • I think that the note nine speaker fell a little bit more powerful and louder than the iPhone tense, but just a little bit, in my opinion, at 1000 bucks the same price.

  • The note nine offers you just a better package.

  • You got multi tasking.

  • You got an extra pen here, you got a bigger screen.

  • You got standard USP Seaport so you can attach a bunch of different accessories if you need to.

  • The camera's great.

  • The screen is bigger, better, There's no notch and yeah, overall, I found myself impressed by the note.

  • Nine.

  • How much it was offering.

  • It made me think maybe it's time to switch back the android.

  • You know, the android has made a lot of progress over the past few years and then not nine shows how capable Andrew it is.

  • So there you go there.

  • No.

  • Nine and the iPhone 10 will be injured to review, given the like and subscribe.

  • And I'll see you next time.

  • Bye.
