  • Hey guys, how's it going?

  • Um, today I'm in Tokyo.

  • I have not slept very much, I'm very very tired.

  • Look at these, like, eye bags.

  • It's so swollen under my eyes.

  • Today in Tokyo there's a conference for Japanese and Chinese social media influencers, and

  • I think I'm speaking on a panel?

  • I don't know, cause like, I got the e-mail last night and I kinda just like glanced over

  • it.

  • It didn't look too complicated so I figured I'd just wing it.

  • Because I'm really unprofessional.

  • And that's not something to be proud of.

  • It's not something to be proud of at all.

  • Yo today, this is like the perfect fall weather.

  • It's like, crisp, and cold, and my nose is running a little.

  • That's how chilly it is.

  • But I love it, it reminds me of Canada.

  • I'm heading to that hotel, right behind this interesting looking building.

  • Alright so we are at the event and I am about to get my hair and makeup fixed up, I'm not

  • really crazy about what I chose to wear, because I thought like, a fall colour would be more

  • appropriate, but the event space is like blue and purple, and it's like...

  • It doesn't really match.

  • But whatever.

  • Chika-san is here too!

  • And we're going to take a peek at the conference.

  • Japan-China...China Japan?

  • Internet Celebrity Summit!

  • Cuz we're...

  • "Internet Celebrities".

  • Haha, it's just so weird.

  • But yeah, we're going to go see what's going on inside the event space and it's really

  • awkward vlogging like this in front of so many people.

  • I don't like it, I'm going to stop.

  • There's some double-chin action there.

  • I know, I wanna get this removed.

  • It's cute!

  • No I don't like it.

  • I think everyone has--wow you have a pretty big one.

  • I DO have a big one, that's what I'm saying!

  • I need to like, remove it.

  • I think I win though.

  • I have been up since 5 in the morning, and I'm dying.

  • There's black coffee and there's chocolate, so, I'm going to come alive, and pull through.

  • Oh my god, YOU TOOK SO MANY!

  • Alright, so we're at the after party now, and it feels so good to finally be able to

  • relax... and EAT.

  • I'm starving!

  • So i'm going to go see what kind of food they have, it looks like it's almost gone!

  • Oh my god, we got here too late.

  • But I'm going to stuff my face.

  • Aw yes FOOD!

  • Wow, okay, so, I just arrived at my Airbnb.

  • I booked this one really short notice, so it has two beds even though I'm like...

  • It's two double beds, even though I'm the only one staying here.

  • Today has been a really really really long day, but it was very interesting because um,

  • I don't know if you guys know what Weibo is, Weibo, cuz, um, YouTube and other forms of

  • social media are blocked in China, so China has it's own social media ecosystem, known

  • as Weibo.

  • The ecosystem over there is totally different, the things that people can do, and amass certain

  • amounts of fans, it's really interesting.

  • Um, yeah, like learning how they make money and how they monetize their stuff, it was

  • a really really great opportunity to learn and study about internet business in another

  • country.

  • I'm going to go to bed.

  • I may or may not wash my face.

  • If I don't, don't get mad at me.

  • I'm just so tired, I don't think I'm going to get up.

  • Ah, so last night I passed out, I went to sleep so fast, and by the time I finally got

  • out of bed it was like, 12:30pm.

  • And it's kind of frustrating because it's like, I came all this way to Tokyo to like

  • get work done and I ended up just sleeping, but it felt so good.

  • It felt so good.

  • So I just packed up all my stuff, and I'm getting ready to go out.

  • I'm gunna meet Sharla and Taylor in Shibuya, pray for us, and we're going to go Halloween

  • Costume shopping, and then after that we're going to head to a Halloween Party, and I'm

  • kind of excited, because a lot of the people that I really want to meet and hang out with

  • and talk to are like gunna be there, so it's really convenient, like I don't have to make

  • a million different plans to see a million different people, they're all going to be

  • in one spot.

  • So I'm really really happy that it turned out this way, because it was really last minute

  • for me to end up going to this party, but I'm excited!

  • Yep.

  • And I need a costume.

  • Yep.

  • I have no idea why they wanted to meet here.

  • This is like, the worst place of all the places to meet, in Japan, on Halloween, they wanted

  • to meet in Shibuya.

  • Uh, chaos!

  • I've never been a sexy Halloween costume.

  • Me neither!

  • Like they're usually really cringey, but like I like how horrible it is.

  • I feel like before I get old, I should be sexy once.

  • Like I should get a really slutty outfit.

  • Like a sexy nurse.

  • I wish they had broccoli.

  • Yeah why DON'T they have broccoli!?

  • Why not?

  • Taylor is a pepper.

  • Sharla is a carrot.

  • And I am a banana.

  • With a top hat.

  • So like, I'm like a banana, but I'm also a sir.

  • It's made out of like, surf material, is yours also?

  • Yeah it's like a wet suit.

  • Taylor can't see.

  • We're going to tell her it's time to cross the street when it's not.

  • Just for funsies.

  • And so Halloween in Tokyo has officially begun.

  • So we are at Chez Simon et Martina, here in Japan, and um, and we are having a halloween

  • party, and like, I'm so happy.

  • Because, I have not been to a Halloween party like this since I was like, in Elementary

  • School.

  • There's Halloween themed food!

  • There's Halloween themed drinks!

  • Everyone's dressed up!

  • It's like, we are 12.

  • It's awesome.

  • I love it.

  • I am so happy.

  • This is so great.

  • Hi I'm Taylor, I get food all over my mouth.

  • But like, you were wondering what that was?

  • It's like a Vampire mouth?

  • It's chia seed jam, and apples, and sunflower seeds.

  • I love how you're just rocking the food.

  • You're like, "yeah, I'm a messy eater, live with it!"

  • "That's melon flavored, soda."

  • "Oh, it does taste like melon soda!

  • I was like, what is that?"

  • "Okay, that makes sense."

  • Did you know that aliens?

  • That aliens???

  • That trees talk to each other?

  • DO they really?

  • Yeah, there's been a scientific study that shows that trees have a tree song.

  • NO!

  • I'm serious!

  • It's like this weird creepy tree sound that they recorded, and it's like, "guhhhhh".

  • No.

  • How do they make the sound?

  • They talk to each other!

  • With what?

  • I don't know--they're alien-ness.

  • Trees, Sloths, Sugar Gliders, all aliens, Martina, 2016, mark my words, you heard it

  • here first, thank you.

  • Alright so now, I left Simon and Martina's party, and now I'm back in Shibuya and this

  • is not where my Airbnb is.

  • I'm totally going to miss the last train, but, um, Biibii and Emily are down here, and

  • I would love to see them in their Halloween costumes cuz they were tweeting them and they

  • looked fantastic!

  • You guys look fantastic!

  • That's crazy.

  • I feel like a potato because like--

  • NO!

  • I KNOW THE FEELING.

  • I'm not even a banana anymore.

  • Hey guys, so it's 2pm, and I'm still in bed.

  • I'm just really taking it easy after last night.

  • It was really hectic and kind of stressful, and my introvert-self needs some time to unwind.

  • And this time the location of the airbnb is like, right next to Gotanda station.

  • I don't know if you can hear that.

  • You can actually hear the sound of trains passing by from this airbnb apartment and

  • I think to some people that might be considered annoying, but I find it really soothing for

  • some reason.

  • I have always been more of an observer than like a participator.

  • And, so like, Simon and Martina's party was really fun because there was no pressure to

  • be the centre of attention, like, you could just sit, you could listen to people's conversations,

  • you could go stand in the corner and snack on all the junk food, you can go grab yourself

  • a drink, or you could sit in front of the TV and watch a movie.

  • Like, there's no pressure to be "on."

  • And I think that's what I like about this Airbnb too, is that I'm lying here like, I'm

  • lying here in bed, like, in my pajamas.

  • It's really comforting to know that the world is still like happening, that everything is

  • still going on outside of this apartment, but that I don't have to be in it.

  • Hi, so now we are in Ikebukuro, I'm heading to Shunshine--Sun?

  • Sunshine City.

  • Um, to the Pokemon Centre because I think that Toph is there...

  • And then we should be meeting up with Rachel and Sharla after that.

  • I haven't eaten anything yet today, so if I can grab something on the way to Sunshine

  • City, that would be fantastic.

  • Something like, really quick and easy.

  • Alright, who are you?

  • I'm Kasumi?

  • Misty.

  • You're Misty?

  • Genderbent!

  • Genderbend Misty!

  • Yeah, before I wasn't wearing a cap, but I messed up the wig cutting it.

  • Oh no.

  • So I threw on a cap, and got the cascade badge.

  • Oh cool!

  • So we're at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, and there's so many cosplay outfits out here.

  • I think the vibe in front of Sunshine City is like, way better than what it was in Shibuya

  • last night.

  • Shibuya was like, people just getting crazy, but this is like an art.

  • Cosplay is like an art, there's so many people who put time and effort and love into their

  • costumes, and it's really good to see.

  • It's like, a more positive and relaxed environment.

  • People are just here getting their photos taken, posing with other cosplayers, you know,

  • like, enjoying the attention.

  • Which is, what, I think, like that's what makes Halloween fun, that's what's fun about

  • Halloween, is dressing up, and having a good time.

  • Not necessarily, dressing up and getting wasted.

  • They just released a whole new Mario collab set.

  • Oh my god.

  • Look at how cute it is!

  • Alright, so now we are in Round One, which is a game centre, and Toph actually brought

  • this Pikachu onesie, and he had it in his bag the whole time, and he was like "why isn't

  • anyone wearing this?"

  • So, I figured what the heck, if Toph is going to be Misty then I will be a Pikachu, for

  • the sake of the photo!

  • So now we're editing our Purikura photos.

  • So.

  • What a weekend it has been.

  • Alright, my question to you today is, "Do you remember your first Halloween costume"?

  • Like your first Halloween costume when you were old enough to go Trick Or Treating?

  • For me, I was Big Bird.

  • When we lived in Richmond, in Vancouver, I was Big Bird, and I remember having a little

  • beak, like a little cardboard beak, and I remember getting um, caramels, and like those

  • rocket candies and just being absolutely thrilled that this was Halloween.

  • It was so much fun, it was one of my favorite memories.

  • If you have any good memories to share, leave a comment below and I'll talk to you there!

  • I know that this vlog is super long and recently I've been making a lot more like, content

  • with my face in it, but um, I'm just testing out a lot of stuff lately, to find out what

  • I enjoy making, and I'm also trying to like, figure out what you guys enjoy watching.

  • And I know that some of you really wanted to see more of my personality, so I'm trying

  • to do that but I'm also trying to HAVE a personality.

  • I'm trying to be a better person.

  • I really am.

  • And I'm so thankful that you guys have been so supportive.

  • Especially recently.

  • I love all of you on my second channel cuz I feel like everyone who watches the second

  • channel is just like, the nicest people in the world.

  • And you guys lift me up, and thank you for supporting my hobbies and just being cool.

  • Yeah.

  • Alright guys, I'll talk to you again soon.

  • I hope you have a fantastic weekend, and um, yep, I should probably have a new video up

  • in a couple of days.

  • So we'll talk then!

  • Bye!

Hey guys, how's it going?
