Hey there.
My name is Henry, and I'm a youtuber.
I recently made a video showing a geometric proof of the distributive law in algebra,
which I think is really awesome - I mean, when you think about it it's really crazy
that you can use the areas of rectangles to prove a rule in algebra!
You can even use the same trick with boxes for triple products!
But clearly I failed at conveying this message to a large number of you, who thought I was
just trying to teach a stupid mnemonic from junior high school.
I'm sorry.
I hope I won't be foiled again.
Also, whenever I make a video about a supposedly "simple" topic like this, it's normally because
I've gotten really excited about some cool new way to think about the topic.
Simple stuff that you think you understand can be some of the most fascinating!
I have no fear of running out of physics ideas any time soon - physics is suuuuch a big field...
sometimes I just get excited about math, too.
Or racewalking.
Either way, as you've probably guessed, I'm 100% committed to making videos that are free
for anyone and everyone to watch.
However, giving stuff away for free is a tough way to make a living, and at the moment, advertisements
on youtube seem to be the best way to keep myself fed with a roof over my head.
They also help support MinuteEarth and MinutoDeFisica...
And if you don't like the sponsorship ads, well, they're at the end of my videos so you
don't actually have to watch them!
I won't be offended.
This MinutePhysics video was brought to you by... a collection of atoms known as Henry.
