  • one year on YouTube.

  • Oh, my God, This is so exciting.

  • With 16,000 off you in this video, guys, I will tell you a little more about my journey over this year, and I will give you some updates for what's comin next and what's going on in my life in general.

  • This'd so exciting.

  • Last week I hit exactly a year on my life of your channel, and it's been such an incredible journey.

  • And I've had so much fun creating videos for you and learning so much about myself.

  • What?

  • I like what I dislike.

  • And let me tell you a little more how all got started before I actually went ahead and started my own channel.

  • I've wanted to start a channel for probably over six months, but I was too scared off not having anything to talk about not having any a specific Thio, my own standards expert, he is or not having anyone that would listen.

  • And just in general, you know, YouTube is such a new platform.

  • I didn't know how to.

  • It was just a lot of barriers until on Facebook randomly, I saw that a friend of mine, Alexis, she posted a YouTube video with a friend, and I was like, Oh my God, I have to reach out to her and ask her what software is used for added and how did the whole process go?

  • So we met up and she was super pumped that I wanted to start a channel, and we decided that why not?

  • We would start a channel together.

  • She's a product designer.

  • I'm a software engineer.

  • So we decided to start a channel around software engineering and product design perspectives in a workplace.

  • Which would it We have four, I think, or five videos together.

  • You can still actually find them on your channel now for channel nose cold.

  • Hello, Malek said.

  • She's mostly talking about you.

  • Ex design and just life experiences.

  • Yeah, we got started with that.

  • Let me go way got started with that together.

  • And then after having gone through the process of planning videos, actually being in front of the camera and just feeling overall more confident that I have something to say and it looks like people would listen.

  • I decided that I was ready to start my own channel.

  • And that's how Life of Yuba, God born and my first video Waas a day in the life of a software engineer at Airbnb Video.

  • And it's actually still to this day my most popular video on the channel.

  • And I started with this video for a few reasons.

  • I'm not gonna lie.

  • I I thought that there was a trend off Dana Life videos, Friends of mine, such as my Yuko Jarvis, Joe.

  • My bail posted a video like that about software engineer and specifically and that I thought was really easy barrier to entry for my own channel because I could show people what my dating life.

  • Woz and I also kind of wanted to see whether my video would also do well because I knew the trend was there.

  • So I had a ton of fun filming the day in the life video.

  • Was walking around the office just filming everything.

  • People were kind of You're looking at me weird or just thought it was funny.

  • It turned out to be a really fun video, and actually, my hypothesis to see whether will do well came true because it did amazingly well.

  • It got picked up by you to bother with them, would act, which actually gave me a huge book boost right at the start of my own channel because because I was getting so many views, I was also getting subscribers.

  • So I think I got about 3000 subscribers from the get go just because of that video.

  • Once I posted it, I started thinking, Okay, look what else I can share it because I already started feeling comfortable talking about my software engineer in Journey and Perspectives with Alexa.

  • I decided to expend on those topics on life of Uber Channel.

  • Basically, I started posting more videos and just getting that barrier off fear of what to talk about was extremely huge.

  • I've realized that I can share my experiences and hopefully someone would listen to me and hopefully it will help someone.

  • And it's been so amazingly incredible.

  • Seeing so much positive feedback from all of you guys.

  • I love what I get Commons that I made you work harder.

  • You got more motivated thio achieve your goals whether its programming related or not, programming related, you're becoming more productive.

  • I'm feel so humbled by all of your positive response on all of your support.

  • And it just makes me want to keep going and one of the things besides, you know, not being scared and just doing it if you want to start.

  • YouTube is also to stay consistent, really working hard on being consistent with videos right now.

  • And actually, the more you practice, the better you get it.

  • I want to start expanding and talking about more things, not just software engineer.

  • And I want to share with you guys what else?

  • I'm working on what I've learned with respect to, you know, move into the states what it's like to live in Silicon Valley.

  • And I just have so many ideas and topics.
