Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles successful launch orbit and intact reentry have been accomplished by only a few nations to date, the space X mission. Today is the first time an entrepreneurial enterprise has joined this very elite company of space faring entities. Today was a dramatic step cold. We did lift off a 10 43 Eastern standard time. We followed the nominal mission profile. We had First State shut down on time. Stage separation was nominal. Second stage engine start. Uh, nose cone jettison in about three minutes and 37 seconds into the mission. Second stage cut off. Nominal. A swell, uh, nominal separation of the dragon spacecraft. Uh, and then we had our on orbit operations. We did maintain attitude control. Thermal control. Our coms program worked brilliantly. We had connectivity with the Cape Ground Station Wallops Ground Station, Australia Ground Station in Australia. We also had full teachers coverage, both omni and directional. Ah, and the directional t dress required pretty specific pointing of dragon in order to maintain that link, and we achieve that, we maintained it, and it really worked flawlessly. We began the de orbit burn at 22 hours and 32 minutes into the mission we finished that de orbit burn slightly early. The re entry phase began in two hours and 58 minutes into the mission. Our drogue chutes deployed nominally three mains deployed nominally as well, by the way, we achieved in eight meter per second descent speed, which is a Zeeland mentioned quite quite comfortable from landing perspective. Ah, we, uh we believed we would. We projected we would have our water landing at three minutes in 19. Excuse me? Three hours in 19 minutes into the mission. We actually did it in three hours, 19 minutes and 52 seconds, which was awesome. We would not be here without the help of NASA and that that I cannot emphasize that, you know, numbers that were conducted were very similar to sort of universe that we would conduct in going to the space station birthing with space station. Look at your very confident Able Thio conduct the proximity operations of birth operational space station with. If they've been people sitting in the in the dragon capsule today, they would have had a very nice ride. And, um, that would have experienced, you know, maybe up to 4.5. Jeez, about what? You'd see it in amusement park and they would have done quite well. So it's It's, uh, except for the escape system on and you know, it seats and some minor upgrades to the life support system. The vehicle that you saw today could it could easily transport people. Um, you know, we do that way. Do agree with the need to have a launch escape system on the testing of wanted to escape system is ah, a difficult thing. The next generation dragon, We're actually going to be aiming for a propulsive landing with gear kind like Eagle landed on the moon. We're beyond the if you know, is it possible?
