We all started the day together having a very gay brunch at our house. You know I love to host, so I was very, very excited. These pancakes are gluten-free AND sugar-free. You can find the recipe in the card above. We even made up our own Pride song. [To the tune of Happy Birthday] Happy Pride Day to us! Happy Pride Day to us! [Crowd cheering] J: Amazing C: Yaaay! [Shutter sound] J: Then we went to the parade, except I couldn't stand in the heat so I saw two floats, then retired to the pub and made Stevie fan me. [Sounds of wind blowing] [Song: Reach] But once the parade was over and everyone came in, I got a boost of energy and we did some dancing. Also, Zoe is possibly the most passionate lip syncer I have ever seen; [Song: Dancing Queen] all of the awards to her, please. Stevie can have the silver medal. [Song: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)] [Song: C'est la Vie] And Clara definitely deserved the gold for Best Dressed. [Song: Dancing Queen] After dancing and having fun at the pub, Stevie and I went home for a little rest - and cake. S: Making a cake from scratch! S: On the floor...?! J: I'm British! S: You are so talented! S: What's even happening?! J: Everyone else went to the festival to lie on the floor and drink / wait for Britney. J: We might have over-slept, however, because by the time I made it back to the festival, the gates were all closing, which then freaked me out, because no phones have service in the area and the stewards were talking way too fast for me to understand what was being said, but eventually I made it to the last open gate, and a very helpful steward allowed me to skip the queue and sweetly [?] his phone for me. Probably because I cried in his face. I found people! These are my people! Hi, people. Those are my people over there, too. The crowd was definitely bigger than any of the years I've been recently, and it felt a lot less about celebrating Pride, but more about celebrating Britney instead. So, there are more people here than any Brighton Pride I have ever been to. There are fewer families; fewer kids. Fewer people dressed in rainbows. I'd just like to say. Fewer people in rainbows. Why is this? L: I don't know! L: Maybe because of B? J: Maybe because they wanted a cheap ticket to see someone? L: I don't know. J: Maybe?! L: Maybe?! J: Maybe?! Z: Very curious. Z: Yeah, no. I think a lot of people have seen this as an opportunity to get a free Britney ticket. R: Free?! Z: Free? Not free. R: Thirty pounds! Z: [?] Z: Like a thirty pound Britney ticket. Z: Considering she charges like a hundred quid usually... J: Britney and Claudia share the same birthday. J: They are therefore soul twins. Z: I share mine with Henry VIII. R: Nice. Z: Yeah. I share mine with Henry VIII. C: Henry VIII? Z: Yeah? J: I share mine with Robert Burns! L: Do you?! J: And every birthday I had to sit through a freaking assembly about Robert Burns! L: Yay! J: Oh, you know who else I share a birthday with that I never sat through an assembly for? Virginia Woolf! L: Do you?! J: Actual important woman! L: That's exciting! J: Did anyone do an assembly about her?! J: No. [Song: Oops!... I Did It Again live] J: She did deliver, though. [Song: Oops!... I Did It Again live] [Song: ...Baby One More Time live] [Song: Oops!... I Did It Again live] J: Even if our view was slightly...blocked. J: Poor Laura was having none of it. [Crowd chatting and cheering] [Crowd chatting] [Pleasant, soothing music] J: Sunday was all about recovery and dim sum because every day should be about recovery and dim sum. S: Oh, my God, this is so amazing. S: I love it. S: So good. C: It's called cha siu bao. S: What? S: Sorry! C: Cha siu bao. S: Cha siu bao? J: Yeah. C: Bao means buns. C: And cha siu is the pork . J: Thank you! S: So good. J: Ooo. [Pleasant, soothing music continues] [More upbeat music] J: I hope you enjoyed this look at our Pride. J: I've put links in the description to all of the amazing people in this video. So go follow 'em! I want to send some special love to every LGBTQ+ person who cannot openly celebrate who they are yet. It's important to remember that Pride isn't just a party but also an on-going battle for equal rights for all. [Upbeat music continues]
