Two years ago, my grandmother came to me

and gave me a letter from my mother saying,

“I'm sorry my daughter for not being there for you.”

That letter was explaining to me that she regrets

that she was not there.

(Thobile) I didn't expect to be pregnant with Banele.

He just came. I knew I was HIV positive.

Oh my God, what have I done?

I'm going to die, and my baby is going to die.

Then he came. A beautiful, lovely boy.

He is HIV negative.

(Dr. Diallo) Anytime you have to do something,

you know it's going to impact somebody's mom,

somebody's daughter, somebody's son.

CDC has this unique position in the world that nobody else has.

If you have so many experts,

it just increase your capacity to do what you have to do.
