  • (Nthabiseng) My mother, she died in 2001, and she was HIV positive.

  • Two years ago, my grandmother came to me

  • and gave me a letter from my mother saying,

  • “I'm sorry my daughter for not being there for you.”

  • That letter was explaining to me that she regrets

  • that she was not there.

  • (Thobile) I didn't expect to be pregnant with Banele.

  • He just came. I knew I was HIV positive.

  • Oh my God, what have I done?

  • I'm going to die, and my baby is going to die.

  • Then he came. A beautiful, lovely boy.

  • He is HIV negative.

  • (Dr. Diallo) Anytime you have to do something,

  • you know it's going to impact somebody's mom,

  • somebody's daughter, somebody's son.

  • CDC has this unique position in the world that nobody else has.

  • If you have so many experts,

  • it just increase your capacity to do what you have to do.

  • (Male VO) I would like to like create a better life for myself,

  • my family, and everybody that is around me.

  • (Dr. Diallo VO) We are doing a great job. But we can do more.

  • (Nthabiseng VO) Whatever you are going through,

  • there's a solution that will come. But it needs you.
