Standard 2: Stakeholder Input
Healthy growth is vital for DSMES services.
Services should grow and evolve using stakeholder feedback.
Stakeholders offer ongoing and valuable input
and help foster ideas that can improve overall service design,
accessibility,
participation,
and sustainability.
Stakeholders should represent the communities
where services are provided.
They can include people with diabetes,
health care providers, and members of
community-based groups.
Their feedback should be gathered and documented
within 6 months of DSMES accreditation
and then at least every year.
Feedback can come from a variety of methods,
like email,
face-to-face meetings,
conference calls,
and surveys.
Ongoing stakeholder feedback is an
essential element for
strong DSMES services.
