The Importance of Being Earnest is a hilarious, farcical romp that is the centerpiece of this year's biennial, much as H.

The importance of being Earnest will be the second presentation as part of the multi year Lincoln Center New York Philharmonic Opera Initiative, which presents fully stage productions of significant modern operas never before seen in New York.

The importance of being Earnest was a hint when it opened in London in 18 95 and remains Oscar Wilde's most popular play.

To this day, it's a blisteringly funny satire of inflexible Victorian society.

And yet given Wild Zone history, there is a darker undercurrent as well.

Gerald Berry, as both the composer and librettist, is the perfect person to capture this duality.

His music is a fascinating reflection of two disparate composers with whom he studied Karlheinz Stockhausen and Maurice Chicago as such very sound world is intense and edgy, but theatrical and well suited to satirical humor.

He's a wonderful composer and it is really interesting, complicated, yet accessible.

It's a very crazy music.

He's a very unique and very distinctive voice.

It is very funny is a characteristic that you don't really encounter very often in sort of serious modern music.

So that aspect of it is really wonderful.

Thea other thing that is wonderful is that he's never heard in, So this is a really big deal in terms of introducing him to New York.

This colorful staging premiered at London's Royal Opera House in June 2013 and was just revived at the Barbican Centre to great acclaim.

Director Roman Gray and many of the cast members will reassemble for this production.

I think the biennial's making a big contribution, a big, big contribution t New York's musical life and is larger than the sum of its parts, and it creates that in define herbal Buns factor.

And, um, I think the biannual has done a great deal in that regard.

I mean, it becomes a thing in itself.
