The University has a fundamental role in the development of society.
I think Unipar leads the way
because it took the initiative to introduce technology into teaching.
The AMA project began here at the University in 2008.
It uses technology to improve quality of life and social inclusion
for people with disabilities through sports.
When I was sixteen, I was hit by a gunshot.
I started using a wheelchair.
That's when I was introduced to the AMA project.
Without it, to tell the truth, I would be no-one.
Juliano has always been a high-performance athlete.
We collect four tests, which are:
speed, blocking, dribbling, and passing.
When we collect this data,
we can show our athletes
that we are focused on their performance,
which motivates them.
We can monitor their athletic progress
through data sheets.
The idea behind this is to create articles.
Some students use these for their final thesis
which we aim to publish.
People can identify what worked and what didn't
and improve our research with new ideas and innovations.
I now play handball, I swim and go to the gym
I'm much stronger, mentally focused
and respectful to others.
Through technology, universities can help society evolve.
I focused on my objectives
and now I intend to become a professional in athletics.
What I'm proud of is when I hear people say:
"Thanks to this project and its people, now I am able."
