The story begins [with] the clarinet player.
I love the part in the beginning. It starts like dusk in the morning in New York, and
the whole thing starts. The second part starts with even more intensity.
Listen to that. This is unbelievable. And then the orchestra comes in.
But I almost don't want the orchestra to come in for a long time,
because that sound that you just heard,
the ring is so huge, and it sounds kind of suspicious, but it's just so warm, the
way the harmony he created is so warm. And then there's a lot of story and it goes
into '"The Masque," the jazz part. Then toward the end it goes back
to the piano solo, which is the theme.
Only, at the end you play an octave higher, which sounds like this.
To me it sounds like a reminiscing about something.
And the orchestra comes in. This is the part I love.
Isn't that gorgeous? Now you get to hear the rest in the concert!
I mean, if you like the sound of this,
this is only one piano.
Imagine this with a full orchestra, with the New York Philharmonic.
I can't wait!
