This is the lock picking lawyer, and what I have for you today is a light lock silver bicycle lock.
It's a lock that a whole bunch of us that I feature, but I put it off because these things are pretty expensive.
This one cost me 100 and $20.
I think that price is pretty striking when you consider it's little more than four cable locks that air molded together in rubber.
Now it may be that this is more secure than the sum of its parts, but I'm not sure that's the case.
Recalled it in video number 7 87 It took me just 16 seconds to cut the six cables of this locks.
Big Brother, the Light Lock Gold.
I'll leave a link to that video in the description below.
I may also do some destructive testing on this one later, but today we're going to take a closer look at the locking mechanism.
It appears to be made of a chrome plated steel, and I think usability is significantly better than the light lock gold, which I had to wrestle with while locking and unlocking.
I would like to see something soft, though on the outside of the housing just to prevent scratches on the bike.
Now the mechanism is a ball bearing design, and it is not by passable and securing everything is a disc detainer core.
So let's see what it takes to pick this open.
The first thing we need to do is rotate all of those disks as far clockwise as they will go.
Then I'm going to get the pick that Bosnian Bill and I made and try to pick up disc number one.
Okay, we've got disc one.
Let's find number two and get to picking.
Okay.
I think we have to set click out of three.
Quick out of four, maybe something on five and six feels loose.
Let's go back to the beginning.
Okay.
Two feels like it.
ISS set.
Just check and make sure no one nowhere else feels better there.
No, I think two is set.
Three feel set.
So does four.
Five.
Okay, six is our zero cuts.
So it's tension off of him and try to set disc number one, and we got this open.
So not too hard to pick.
I think I counted six discs, which is on the low end, but probably not so bad that that makes it the weak link of the package.
I suspect the weak link is going to prove to be this strap.
But well, look at that another day.
In any case, that's all I have for you today.
