- You totally copied me on this one.
- I did!
- I knew you did!
(laughing)
(upbeat music)
- Hi, my name is Lauren.
- Hi, my name is Kimberly.
- Hi, I'm Gadiel.
- Hi, I'm Zane,
and we are competing today
to match Arabic words to Spanish words.
- I've been practicing a little Arabic from time to time,
you know what I'm saying?
- For the ladies
because we Arabic women are hot.
- Oh yes.
(laughing)
- So, my parents are from Syria,
so I learned Arabic growing up.
- Sometimes, you know, my friends would speak Spanish
and I'd understand a word here and there.
So yeah, there are a lot of great similarities
plus we both make bomb ass food.
- Word. That's right.
- I remember even learning Spanish,
hearing the word, "pantalones" or something?
- Yes.
- And we say "bantalon".
- Oh!
- You ready?
- I got it, I got it baby, I got it.
- Don't be scared.
- I got it.
- I'm gonna beat his ass.
(laughing)
(upbeat music)
- Alright.
- Let's do this.
- Oh my gosh.
I feel like zurāfah sounds (mumbles).
Alright.
- [Zane] Starting at the bottom.
- Qahwah. Qahwah. That's definitely not (mumbles).
- Do not copy me!
Oh my god!
I'm just gonna guess for that one.
(dramatic music)
- [Zane] Wait! Wait!
- [Lauren] We're doing a lot of guessing here.
(laughing)
- We didn't get much time.
I did horrible!
- I think I did pretty...okay?
A lot of these words sound so similar.
- I panicked.
- But you did pretty good though,
you put them up there.
- I tried, y'all.
- He tried!
- Jirafa, so Jirafa, I matched with zuraf.
- [Lauren] Zurafah.
- Zurafah.
- [Zane] So jirafa, giraffe, right?
- Yeah (bell dings).
- I got uh blank.
- [Kimberly] So Máscara is
- Masharah.
- Masharah.
- Yeah.
- Is it this one?
- It is!
- Oh!
- Do I get a point?
- Um so Jarabe, I matched with this word? (bell dings)
- šarāb.
- Is it that one? Sarab?
- Yes. Yes.
- So Sandia is watermelon,
and I matched it with this word? (bell dings)
because they both started with the same letter
and ended with the same letter-ish?
- He totally copied me.
- [Gadiel] I did! (bell dings)
- I knew you did!
(laughing)
- Asesino. It means murderer (laughs).
- Haššāšīn?
- [Gadiel] Right? (bell dings)
We winning. Look at that.
- That's right.
- Boom. Teamwork makes the dream work.
- Wow that is an A.
- I told you, I'm so competitive.
- Good job!
- Thank you!
- Of course!
- Good job to you too though.
- Thank you.
- I think we did good, yo.
- I think we did terrible, but okay.
(laughing)
- I think I did okay,
there were a couple things that I mixed up.
- We tried our best. You know what?
I feel like we bonded, that's all that matters.
At the end of the day, that's how we won.
- I learned that Spanish really is so similar to Arabic.
- Yeah.
- And that they're both such,
well for one beautiful languages,
so I love that.
- That the words were so similar,
- Yeah.
- That when you were saying them in Spanish,
I thought they were actually the Arabic words.
- I think I would be able to navigate
a Spanish speaking country.
- One, because there's a lot of similar words to Arabic
and I found in English too.
- I think I learned that I really love this guy,
and I hope we can hang out soon.
- I love you too!
- [Zane] And Arabs and Spanish people have a lot alike.
- We're gonna hang out.
- We are gonna hang out.
- Yeah. I'm gonna take you to the Dominican Republic with me
- I would love that! Yeah!
- Let's go! Let's go! Right there.
We're gonna go to the beach.
