Welcome to the new world without makeup.
Being in quarantine has definitely made me realize
how unimportant it is to wear makeup.
No place to go?
Nobody to meet?
No need to get dolled up.
People are staying home, so they're giving less attention
to their personal care, and that's been reflected
in the sales of a lot of the big companies.
As a result, the cosmetics industry
is taking a major hit.
Major retailers like Sephora have seen
a 14% drop in sales since the pandemic hit.
The trend right now is not to be getting up 15
and making yourself, and doing makeup
on your face to go out.
Many people, like Meghan McCain,
are going gray in quarantine.
Just putting it on that dark root.
Others are becoming their own colorists.
As women, we're really having to take it
into our own hands at home.
But we won't be stuck in this world
without makeup forever.
I think the beauty industry, cosmetics,
they will all bounce back.
Because women need makeup.
And as soon as lockdown orders are lifted,
and they get back to their normal lives,
they're gonna start going back
to their normal routines, as well.
