Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles HEY EVERYONE I'M LORETTA! Today I have such an amazing announcement to share and I'm so excited!!!!!!! If you're anything like me, and you like learning about Japan's culture and language today is an extra special day because something that came out that is going to help you learn and how to study and do all of that stuff for FREE. Today I want to share, DUOLINGO. Up until no, Duolingo has been a service for learning romance languages and other languages but they haven't had Japanese until now so today I want to test it out with you guys and see how it looks. So yeah! Let's go! [ Duolingo Japanese (FINALLY!!) ] Let's start at the basics... Tap the pairs.... Tomorrow will be April 4th... There...is..a...chair...behind me... (Hey buddy!) (How'd you get in this app??) High five!! These sentences always crack me up!!! There are...a...lot...of...men... I want ot see if I can test out of this to see what one of the extra lessons looks like so give me like 10 seconds... Hey! Did I say 10 minutes?? How about more like... THREE DAYS The last 3 days I have been playing with this app and trying to test my way through the levels I think this is a great way for any beginner who's at a "zero" level to just jump in to get immersed (MAYBE DROWNED) but definitely immersed very quickly. I want to see if we can get to some of the more advanced levels really quick... I want to take a shortcut up here... Today...is...not...cool. It is very cool, I think! It took two weeks... This APP took two weeks! I don't wash my clothes in Fall and Winter...???? WHO IS THIS!?!?! Ew, this person's nasty!!! One of the things I was thinking while going through it is that so many of you send me messages in Japanese where you practice Japanese, and a lot of times the words you're using may be advanced but the sentence order is a little bit awkward. So I think, if you're a self studier or trying to sound more native this app will probably be helpful because you're drilling yourself and mimicking patterns and learning to swap words into those patterns so it'll help you recognize more native patterns. You can notice the topics are very common, like everyday topics, pop culture, olympics and more so it's great in terms of content It's not a bug per se, but maybe it's my personal preference but it kept correcting my English??? It kept telling me that my English translations were wrong in a very nit-picky way. (I'm leaving the bank vs. I leave the bank) C'MON GUYSs. I lost a whole heart off of THAT?! It's not a bug, but just personally I felt like MY ENGLISH IS FINE!!! It's great if you're a beginner if you're not, you can test to certain parts and get there faster It didn't eat up my phone battery, which was nice and then, it's free! Like, it's free! That's the biggest bonus! Let me know what you thought in a comment if you tried it what you thought Did you find any bugs or glitches? So, I'll see you in another video! Thank you so much for watching today! It's a really fun app The new duolingo Japanese app was really great! Thanks! I'm so excited and hopefully, now that they have Japanese maybe they'll add some other script-based languages as well we'll see, that would be nice. See you in the next video!
