Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles hi everyone this is Jennifer from Tarle Speech I hope this video finds you all well I have been getting a lot of requests for pronunciation of certain words related to the current global pandemic and so I'm going to do a quick series for you this week so check every day I will have a new video posted for you our first word is how do I say the word mask and to say this word correctly we're going to start with that M sound mmm to do this you're just going to put your lips together and air is going to move out of your nose next we're going to move to that open AH sound to do this think about having your mouth in a wide circle open wide in a circle shape and then the tip of your tongue is going to be low in the mouth the back of your tongue is going to be pulled up and then we're going to move to that s you're going to close your mouth closed um almost closed for this sound the tip of your tongue is going to be behind the back of the top front teeth or pointed slightly down do not touch your teeth for this sound and keep the air moving out of your mouth and let's try these three together now and then we're going to end with the K sound to do this you are going to tip your tongue down a little bit further point that tongue down towards the bottom of the mouth the back of the tongue is going to pull up for some people it touches the roof of the mouth for others it just gets super close and then you are going to say that K sound by letting that air puff out and let's put that all together now mask mask mask mask mask and now for a sentence please wear a face mask to prevent transmission of disease give it a try people are going to notice the difference I hope you found this helpful please give us a like and a share be well and I will see you all tomorrow thanks so much take care
