So today we're going to IKEA

Because that's an adventure in my eyes

I'm here with my friend Mary

She's very nice, she can drive

That's pretty much why she's here

We're listening to High School Musical

Just having a good time

Yeah, let's go

So I've just been informed that there are some parts of Canada where you have to drive for 8 hours to get to an IKEA

Saskatoon

Saskatoon?

Didn't know that was a place

Rule number one of IKEA

Is don't come when everyone else is coming

Because you will not find parking and you will spend ages struggling

We're here on a Thursday at 11am

Soooo everyone's probably at work

Okay so we've made it to IKEA

It's very windy, it's a very unpleasant day

Welcome to the UK

There are some parts of the world where they don't have IKEA

Did you know that there are only 26* countries where they have IKEA

So this is IKEA

It's a Swedish furniture shop which is famous for selling cheap furniture that you take home in flat packs and put together yourself

As you enter IKEA you see loads of different rooms which are designed with the furniture that they have to sell

I think it's fun to go through them and imagine if you'd like to live in a house like that

For example, I'm not too keen on this living room, I don't really like the colours

Look they've glued these shut

So you don't steal their damn biscuits

To buy from IKEA you steal a little pencil like this one

And you write down the serial number for the items you want

And at the end of your shop you pick up the flat pack with the same serial number from the storage room

I'll show you guys the storage room soon

So now that we're all pretty much on the same page about what IKEA actually is

Let's get on with some fun facts

Apparently IKEA is building it's own town near London

Which will contain shops, schools, theaters, a hotel and flat pack housing for 6,000 people

What the hell like who thought of this, like who made... Who made this up?

Here's another one for ya

In Sweden, IKEA's a pretty big deal

Like I can't really remember going to anyone's house and not seeing anything from IKEA

There are even IKEA busses which are specifically designed to take you into IKEA

To those of you who complain about getting lost, there are literally arrows like this everywhere

Even though I don't really buy furniture

I actually have a lot of fun going to IKEA

I really love going through everything and just looking at all the different rooms

I don't really know why, maybe I'm a boring person

Okay but look at this your mind is about to be blown

What the hell

It's a Transformer lamp

Whaaat

Ugh, none of this stuff is gonna be as cool as THAT

So this is like a compact apartment

So it's specifically made for really small flats

And it shows like all these little....

Like it's a tiny place but there's actually lots of stuff in it

It's pretty clever

Okay so listen to this

The store was originally founded in 1943

By a 17 year old

What, I'm 19 and I haven't done anything

I'm wearing pyjamas right now

Then you get to my favourite section which is the kids section, full of toys! Yeah!

This was our main reason for coming, these meatballs are delicious

It's where you find all the flat packs with all the numbers you've written down

Here's a fun fact

For a very short time I lived in a town called Lycksele

You're about to see it, about to see it

That right there, Lycksele

I'm pretty much a celebrity now

And then you go and you stand in very long queues for hours

Unless you're a genius like us and come when no one else's come

Then you get to the second food section, which is my favourite section of all of IKEA

In Sweden during Easter, instead of getting chocolate eggs we get these cardboard eggs and fill them with sweets ourselves

This is where I spend most of my money, I love this section, it brings me back home

It's got all the things I really miss except that ew

In Sweden it's normal for kids to have sweets on Saturdays

We call it "lördagsgodis"

Pick and mix is a pretty big deal in Sweden
