You a lot of time in trees in this movie?

Yeah Oregon, I lived there for four years Oh yeah?

Did you spend a lot of time in trees?

Yes I did strangely enough, picking ticks out of my

non-existent hair.

I'm assuming you're no stranger to wire work?

Well I've been hit during wire work before where you

just pulled by the wire but it's the first time I've

actually had to try to control my body it's very

hard.

I understand the new experimental process that

they were doing to make it look like you're running

really fast?

Yeah no one really knew how to they were just inventing

stuff, the wire with that we used to run fast is set up

for a camera to film cars and stuff in your life and

just put the guy in it hang him off it and nobody ever

knew if it would work it was kind all these things were

the wire would bounce because you're moving your

pretending to run to throw your balance off and you had

to have it have a complete center of gravity and be so

still and be moving and try to make it not look like

like robotic it was impossible Now I was

completely unaware of the twilight world and once I

became aware I noticed it everywhere Yeah I would

imagine that the fans been coming out of the woodwork

even before the movie was filmed I had not heard of it

when I went into it and I really didn't know about the

whole time I was shooting it and then when we came back

to LA to do re-shoots suddenly 200 fans were at

the set and I was like what?

And everyone was involved that was what was going on?

why when did this start?

and literally from that day forth when we went back to

LA people came up to you the whole time on the street and

you're like how do you know?

it used to be from Harry Potter and suddenly one day

it's Edward Cullen!

is a really strange experience.

Except now that you are Harry Potter (laughs) And it

only just started my friend you're in for world of,

your life is changed forever I think.

I really don't know what to think Now Edward a tortured

soul I guess the best way to describe the character

right?

In a lot of ways yeah Now how does one portray being

tortured?

Brooding?

Was a lot of brooding?

Did you practice your brooding?

I practiced my brooding face,

yeah, I don't know I think everybody has some kind of

torment I've never met someone who has absolutely

no conflict within themselves and you just have

to keep emphasizing it, keep picking at it and eventually

it was a nice character to explore that type of a part

of your brain.

And your first day of filming all excited to get

to set and your like, ok, got to be brooding.

(laughs) I imagine that has to be exhausting just been

brooding?

The first day on the set we had to film the big fight at

the end No way Yeah and that was the most stressful thing

I mean I had to set up doing the whole pretty thing he's

supposed to be pretty the whole time super strength

brooding tortured soul everything on a wire rig by

killing somebody.

I don't know that was tough doing that fight scene

first.

I'm going to end with the kiss,

the slowest attempt at a kiss that I've ever seen,

was it constantly slower, slower,

you going to fast!

That was a long Yeah, it's the whole thing he's trying

to control himself, yeah I just took way too long I

like dramatic pauses.
