Enjoy. In this video I'm going to show you how to cook rump steak. So, the first thing you want to do is make sure your pan is hot. Put that on the heat there for a second. And we're going to put a little bit of extra virgin olive oil. Not insane amounts, but enough to coat the pan. Now, depending on how you want it if you like it well done there's a little trick that you can do. Basically, holding your fingers with your thumb you can prod your thumb. This is how you're going to test how cooked the steak is. On the little finger this is well done. And then it goes a little bit softer until you eventually have rare. Okay. So, [xx] just smoking. I mean, it is just smoking there. I'm going to put a little salt on the steak. Make sure it's coated in oil and put it in the pan. A little bit more salt on the top. So, hopefully we'll get a nice brown crust on the bottom of the steak. Before you cook your steak make sure you've brought it up to room temperature. So, that way it's not cold in the middle when it's finished cooking. If you wanted to cook it a little more if you want it well done. Start with the pan medium, high hear rather than the high heat. It's looking nice and soft. It should still be rare at the moment. A touch more and we'll cook it medium rare. Okay. This is basically, this is ready now. Then we're going to take it off for a second. If you add a little water or white wine you can deglaze the pan. A touch of olive oil. Give you a nice sauce. And that's it. It's done. You might like to plate it with some chips or whatever you fancy. And that's how to cook a rump steak.
