Sotorecap, theplanedepartedfromKualaLumpuronthewaytoBeijingandstartedflyingonthenormalflightpath, butthenmade a suddenrightturnovertheGulfofThailandthan a suddenleftturnandflewacrosstheMalayapeninsula.
OncepassedtheislandofpinningtheplanetookanotherturntoflyintotheIndianOceanandthentookanotherturnsouthandflewforoverfivehoursstraightacrossthatoceanbeforeitprobablyfinallyranout a fewfuelandcrashedsomewherewestofAustraliainthemiddleofnowhere.
A sonarsearchoftheseafloorwasalsoconductedabout 1800 kilometerswestofPerth, Australia, butalsodidn't findanything.
Nothingatallwasactuallydiscovereduntilover a yearaftertheplanevanishedwheninJuly 2015 a pieceofwreckagewasdiscoveredwasheduponthebeachofReunion, 4000 kilometerswestofthemainsearcharea.
Thepiecewas a wingflaperon, thisparton a planeanditwasconfirmedtohavecomefromMH 3 70.
Itsanalysisshowedthatthelandingflapsoftheplanewerenotextendedwhenitcrashed, whichkindofterrifyinglysupportsthetheorythatwhentheplanecrashedintheocean, itdidsobyenteringinto a verticaldive.
A fewmorepiecesofwreckagewerelaterdiscoveredacrossthecoastofEastAfrica, butbyJanuary 17th, 2017 nearlythreeyearsaftertheplane's disappearance, theofficialsearchfortheflightwassuspendedafterdiscoveringnootherevidenceforthePlainslocationotherthanthosesmallamountsofdebris.
