Windsor first found fame in the carry on films back in the sixties, later becoming a household name in her role as per bland lady Peggy Mitchell in the soap EastEnders. Her husband, Scott Mitchell, released a statement saying that she had died peacefully at a London care home on Thursday night. Windsor was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014 and campaigned form or government action on the disease. In a statement, her husband said. I will always be immensely proud of Barbra's courage, dignity and generosity, dealing with her own illness and still trying to help others by raising awareness. Windsor made her debut on EastEnders in 1994 and quit in 2000 and nine, saying she wanted to spend more time with her husband, whom she married in 2000.
