Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles hi there Jennifer from Tarle Speech with your two for Tuesday actually today is a double two for Tuesday so you're getting four words today our words are read the past tense of to read and red the color and read what we do with the book or a situation and reed the grass so let's go ahead and take a look at our words we're going to start with the r sound and the D sound the first and the last sound because they're exactly the same in each of these words so to say an r er I recommend square tense lips because my students sometimes round too much or don't round enough so think square tense lips tip of the tongue is either down towards the bottom of the mouth or flipped back it is not touching the front teeth and it is not moving er next for the last sound just going to touch the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth and pull it down for that sound if you don't want the air to explode you just hold it behind the teeth at the end of the word d d all right so for the vowels for the long e this is a super easy one e you're going to smile e tongue is high and flat in the mouth read reed and then for red you can see my mouth opens more so the difference between the long e and this short e is that for the short e my mouth is going to be more open and my lips are going to be a little bit more relaxed so that this vowel can be shorter red read red read reed read red read read reed red red red read read read and now in a sentence do you like to read then I suggest you read the book called the red reed let me know when you have read it and then we can talk about it give it a try people are going to notice the difference if you found this helpful we'd love a like a share to subscribe you could check out our products on Google Play and iTunes and our classes at Tarle Speech thanks so much everyone have a great week
