My favorite gadget, 2020 is I think you could see it right there.

It's a big boy.

I don't buy as many gadgets is a lot of people at the Verge, but this is a good, guilty, very guilty.

We have covered over 100 products on the channel alone in 2020 and there's countless more reviews over on the site.

But there's always a few gadgets that we hold near and dear to our hearts.

So today I'm asking the verge staff.

This is the iPhone 12 Mini.

This is the size of phone like this feels right in my hand.

Now the colors, whatever.

Here's the thing that I have accepted in my heart.

I'm gonna buy somewhere between two and four phones a year.

This thing where every phone company has a different color of phone, that's like their color for the year.

I just accepted.

Yeah, I'll get that color.

And so, like, next year, I have a different color.

It'll be fine.

Is it just about its size, or is there other things that you also love about it?

The thing that I love about it is that you get this small size without compromising anything but battery life.

You get the good cameras, you get good screen resolution, you get fast processor, you get all the stuff you want out of an iPhone.

It's just in a small size.

I don't know if gadgets were just like pretty good this year, or it's just the fact that we constantly needed escape reality.

No, the gadgets were really good.

The titles, like the gadgets, are good this year because they've been really good.

They've been really good.

And I have so many boxes that I actually those aren't good.

Yeah, well, if I had picked like one just off the top, my head, it saw It's this bad boy, the PlayStation 50 yeah, Yeah.

I knew this was gonna come into my day at some point.

The PlayStation five is one of the newest consoles.

It's really hard to get one of these things, but one of my favorite things about the console is actually the controller.

The dual sense.

Now this is one of those innovative controllers I have used in a long time the haptic feedback technologies and how it creates just a massive immersion in a lot of the games.

I've found myself playing my PS five more than my Xbox Series X.

I've had both of them since launch day.

I've only played my Xbox series X like three times, whereas all my PS five played almost every single day.

So basically, when you're not working, you're playing your PS five.

Basically, the Oculus quest to I cover B R a lot, and this is the first time that I've had a beer had said that I actually wanna put on No way.

It's fun.

I know that there's a lot of people out there who are like I still don't get V r.

I could never see myself using that.

Tell me what makes you want to put this on the Oculus, plus to the thing that makes it kind of unique is that it is a fully self contained headset.

So it's this is everything there is of it and thes controllers, and you just put it on and you play it.

Oh, yeah, that's the other good thing about is yeah, trick this out.

This is not the default head strapped.

Its's much, much better.

Like you should if you're buying an Oculus quest, who you really need to get this other head strap.

When did you realize that you love this piece of tech?

I think it was the point at which I realized that I was putting this on for fun, and I kind of wanted to do it every day.

There was just this moment where I was like, Oh, this is actually a thing that's kind of part of my life now the way that a game console will be that's really cool.

2020 has been a year, but there's been a lot of cool gadgets this year.

I gotta admit everything that I test that has been pretty amazing.

What have you liked escaping with the most A bunch of stuff.

But as you can probably tell, over here, there's a little drone the deejay many to anyway.

It's the little tiny drone that you probably heard about 2 49 g, which makes it so you don't have to actually register with the FDA.

I love it.

Everyone who's doing video probably knows this, but like you often have back problems and your back hurt all the time.

And I spent a lot of time walking around the city with a lot of gear could change for my back.

So it has 12 megapixel photos, four K 30 video and photos Look.

Great.

Video looks amazing.

It doesn't have any sensors, so you gotta be careful how you fly it.

I actually feel like I'm or adventurous with this thing than with the bigger road.

So how much is it?

4 50.

If you buy the fly more combo, it's 600.

But you get two extra batteries, couple of props, the charging hub, the case.

And if you do the math, the 600 it makes sense.

You might as well just get the combo if you're gonna buy it.

This is the Dell XPS 13 2 on one.

Here it's a laptop and you can fold it.

And here it's a tablet.

It's really light so you could bring it all over the place with you and it's really powerful.

It could do pretty much anything you want it to.

As long as it's not, like, really intense games.

Other less demanding games.

You could play like League of Legends.

You could play Overwatch.

Rocket League.

Why am I like not believing you?

It's completely unbelievable.

It's the type of thing that if I went back in time to 2017, I was like something This light.

It's gonna be ableto like play Overwatch at 60 FPs.

I just would have been shocked, or I would have been like that must cost like $7000.

Yeah.

How much does it cost?

Well, they're a bunch of different prices from the 1000 up to the 3000 range.

I think that this model, which is 16 49 it has a regular 1920 by 1200.

Touchscreen is a great model for most people.

So how often do you find yourself in tablet mode, like if you're being 100 times?

What I mostly use talent mode for is for watching stuff like, if I want to, like, sit on my couch, I could just, like, flip it around and like pulling up like that.

What is kind of cool?

I play the piano and I will use this until I put my piano music on.

I'll put it up on the piano, and it has.

It has auto rotates like a real tablet and battery that I found this.

What's that?

Like battery life is pretty good.

I averaged about eight hours, Um, in my daily work load.

It's not necessarily that there's like one super flashy feature that's just like no other laptop has.

I think it's just the combination of everything being really good.

You know, it's so sturdy, the hinges so sturdy.

The touch pad is so great.

That screen is so nice to look at.

It's really bright.

I have to admit, a lot of this was based on your video review.

I got some beans guilty, but live.

Okay, So, controversially, I will say that I don't think everyone should buy these.

I don't think there for everyone, but for, like my specific needs.

They're, like, absolutely, perfectly tick every box because the things I used them for recycling I basically want something that doesn't have a thing coming down.

So it's not gonna get in the way of, like, the helmet strap or whatever.

I want something that's gonna be open rather than having that, like a little bit of silicon on the end, because I basically wanna be able to hear what's going on around me.

I totally hear that.

Are they as good as you thought they were gonna be?

The pairing process isn't quite as good.

You have to download some things app.

But then, honestly, like once that's done, I haven't had any pairing issues whatsoever.

My favorite thing about them.

That was just the way that they totally, like fit in that part of your ear perfectly.

That I never knew was a bean shaped but actually is a perfect clean shape we've been working with the entire time.

I know we have these little little bean cavities.
