Great young women, including one of ours today, Agu Mackay, who had this to say about her coach's legacy 35 years ago, a young head coach in college basketball took an interview for her dream job. But somehow, when first offered the position instinctively, she said no. She thought she didn't know enough to take on the role, but she followed her gut and changed her mind. The school. From that moment on, one of the foremost academic institutions in the world, aligned with one of basketball's greatest minds by working hard to go together on 3123 together, Tara taught herself the numbers game before it was called analytics and to balance out all the studying and scouting and her meticulous attention to detail. She taught herself Mose art destruction tars insatiable desire to learn made her one of the game's best teachers, and the result of that was winning. Ah, whole lot of it. Two national titles, an Olympic gold medal with Team USA. 15 time Pac 12 Coach of the Year Stanford has won their seventh consecutive tournament championship. Okay, that's me. Sorry, Naysmith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Everything you can dio she has done. And now Coach Tara has surpassed 1098 wins for the most all time in the women's game, which is much more than just a mark in the history books. Tara has now crossed a milestone set by her friend and fearless competitors, the late, great Pat Summitt, which included 28 times stepping to the challenge of taking on the Titan of Tennessee. Oh, and by the way, Tar is not too far behind Coach K. Now in overall winds to with every season that passes comes Mawr students of the game and not the ones you'd expect. What an achievement. So proud of you and we just love you. Hear it, Stanford. And here's to many, many more years of coaching. Way to go, Coach Tara. Congrats, star. Uh, I just want to say congratulations to her job. Well done. Congratulations on this amazing record and good luck this season. Tar, uh, you're a true leader, Coach teacher, and you've taught us how to win on and off the court with this milestone. Unfortunately, there will not be the normal fanfare. Literally no fans in the stands, no family hugs, no clamoring media scrums. There will be none of that for this history maker, but if you know Coach Tara, she would prefer it that way because less is more. Plus, she's got another game to prepare for.
