Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles Hi, everyone. I'm Paula. And welcome to my first teaching video. Woohoo. Yay. As you know, I am from Argentina. And like in many countries, things have changed a lot here since the COVID-19 pandemic started. So, in this video, we're going to say the expression, "used to" to talk about repeated actions in the past, which don't happen now. Has your life changed since the pandemic started? Well, you're not the only one. We're right here in the streets in order to ask people how their lives have changed because of the pandemic. But, before we do that, don't forget to subscribe to the channel. Now, come with me. Hello, this is Paula from Learn English with Cambridge News. May I ask you a question? Have your habits changed because of Coronavirus? Yes, absolutely. I-I used to go to concerts, and I miss that. I love you. I love you. Um, sure, I used to shop in-store, not online. Um, yes, yes, they have. Uh, I didn't use to wear this mask all the time. Yes. I didn't use to stay in pajamas the whole day. In affirmative sentences, the structure is "subject, used to, infinitive verb." "I used to go to concerts." In negative sentences, the structure is "subject, didn't use to, infinitive verb." "I didn't use to stay in pajamas." What about you? Did you use to travel? Yes, I did. I used to do that, and I really, really miss it. Did you use to make video calls with your friends? Uh, no, I-I didn't. I-I didn't even know how to use the computer. What did you use to do with your friends? I used to meet them at a bar, like, every Friday. Interrogative sentences can have a short answer where the structure is "did, subject, use to, infinitive verb." "Did you use to make video calls?" "Yes, I did." "No, I-I didn't." Or they can have a long answer where the structure is "question word, did, subject, use to, infinitive verb." "What did you use to do with your friends?" "I used to meet them at a bar." What about you? Have your habits changed since the pandemic started? What did you use to do? Please, leave us a comment below. And if you enjoyed the video, don't forget to like it. See you in the next video. This was Paula. Over and out.
