Subtitles section Play video Print subtitles I am Pascal Lamy. I'm currently the chair of the Paris Peace Forum, among other exciting positions. So here are my biggest lessons. Keep learning every day, which implies a lot of curiosity and a lot of hard work. This is what I did when I was serving my country, when I was serving the European Union, when I was serving a major global organization, and it helped me a lot. Don't forget that you will probably learn more from your failures than from your successes, and that building a solid network of friends, of relationships, will help you moving towards your ambition. I was lucky enough to be able to do that when I was very young, and I can tell you, it served me a lot. Have values. Make up your mind about what you believe is good or bad and stick to this value chain, this value scale where you have to take tough decisions in life. I had to take tough decisions in life including in deciding whether I would or not move to this position, or to this place. And I always tried to do it in believing I was doing it for the good and not for the bad. Make sure you regularly take stock, in order to know whether or not you are on the road which you have decided to embark on. I always tried to do this. It worked most of the time. And then I sometimes I had to redress course in order to be back to the roadmap I had decided to follow. Probably the most important of all, care about your loved ones in their hard times. They will care and be with you in your hard times. And there will be hard times, that's the price to pay to have great times. And I had hard times, but I also had great times.
