This is Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, believe it or not.

It's Cindy.

This is one of the big cities.

Goes into the countryside into the mountains like where we are today.

This is a key, you falls, The great acu falls.

This is one of the most attractive sites in the Sendai region.

You can see from the parking lot.

It's not really much of a hike.

You don't have to go too far.

And in this sort of livestream, I'm gonna be taking you all the way from here to the observation ports and before we start down the trail, check out some drone footage.

Mhm wow, it's pretty cold.

This is Tohoku.

There are six prefectures in the Tohoku region, Fukushima, Miyagi, Iwate, Al Maury, Akita and Yamagata.

This is Miyagi Prefecture.

And um, I guess we go this direction.

Yeah.

Don't walk in the direct center.

Stay to the left or the right past the shrine.

Okay.

That can see the path is over to the right side.

There's a couple of people walking in that direction.

Just mind in the winter.

The path here, You can see it's quite icy.

It just feels good.

The air is so much fresher here than it is in the city of Tokyo.

Really relaxing.

Just to walk in the countryside.

I can already hear the waterfall.

Oh wow.

Just take it step by step.

What do you think now that you've seen the drone footage and now you're seeing some of the surrounding countryside kind of worth the visit.

I think now there's more to this area than just the waterfall.

If you're coming here from sunday I, which I guess you would have to, unless you have a car and you're living here, you're driving from wherever in the country.

Um the ride here is really beautiful.

There's loads of shops.

It's just you get that countryside feeling those that are city dwellers.

City city people like me.

When you leave, you have fresh fruits and vegetables, really fresh foods, pretty neat roadside stands.

That's part of the experience of coming out here.

The Mikino Iki road houses in Japan where local food, local farmers and businesses come out and and sell their, There are goods, you find that out here as well.

Just 30 minutes from the city center.

As I said before, I guess we're here.

You have to be really careful that you can hear um the waterfall just over there.

Whoa.

Mhm.

That's a lot of water falling down there.

This is one of the 100 top waterfalls in Japan of course there's a list in Japan everywhere that you go.

You can check off a list by traveling around the country looking at um Ponds, mountains, all sorts of beautiful natural sites.

There's a ranking system here.

This is one of the top 100 definitely powerful.

Yeah.

Now I think in the summer and in the fall and in the spring there are a lot more people here.

It's like just basically me, a couple of other people around.

Oh, this is a really beautiful angle.

I've been to a lot of the world's biggest waterfalls to victoria falls on the Zimbabwe Zambian border in Africa.

I've been to Iguazu between Argentina Uruguay and brazil.

This isn't on the same scale, but Just when you see a big waterfall like this that that drops over 2030 m.

Mm hmm.

So you can feel that power.

There's certain things in japan where you can feel powered waterfalls is one of another one are the Taiko drums.

So I was just at the coquettish E doll Museum, not too far away from here.

About an hour drive.

Check out that video up here on the top right to see another area of Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai, wow, it's freezing, my hands are getting numb.

My hands are starting to get a little numb.

So you want to bring a good pair of gloves.

But the great thing about this, if you're coming here with a rental car like I did.

You don't have to travel that far.

So there's not a lot of hiking involved just to see the waterfall, but this area I could see, it would be pretty good for hiking.

There's a trail down there that you can probably hike around to get another angle of the falls.

Probably better in this in this summer spring or fall when it's cold.

But I have seen pictures when it gets really, really cold, the waterfall will freeze over, making a completely different view of this.

As I said again, four seasons in japan winter, spring, summer fall, each one is very unique.

Coming out to a waterfall like a queue here in Sendai is another way to just feel that nature.

That's such an integral part of japanese culture.

Very cool.

You gotta watch your step here, it's very cold.
