New research is showing us some pretty surprising things about how it changes throughout your lifetime.

But a fun fact that didn't make it into this episode is that researchers have compared the metabolic rates of hunter gatherer societies who are always on the move, walking around 19,000 steps a day, the metabolic rates of largely sedentary population and the amount of calories they burn.
