(slow music) Dog walkers are people who walk dogs when a dog owner can't. Dog walkers make sure that dogs get their exercise. Some dog walkers walk one dog at a time, and others walk lots of dogs. Dog walkers know a lot about dogs, and sometimes they take them to a dog park, where they can play with other dogs. (laughs) Look at all those doggies. - Wow, dog walkers are really helpful. - You betcha! Well, gotta go, Elmo, it's time for my walk. (Elmo laughs) - Thank you, Smartie, bye-bye. Someone is ready to add a puppy to their family. Let him come to you. Oh, he went right to you. Lucas, I think you'd be a great friend for Theo. - Theo's brushed and ready for his new family. Can you help me, please? - Of course we can help you. - Yeah. - Because we are monster foodies. - Monster foodies! - Okay, what we need to make vanilla pup-cicles, Chef Gonger, and what are they? - Oh, they're special treats that are safe for doggies to eat. - Oh. - [Gonger] And to make them, we need milk, honey, eggs yolks, and a vanilla bean. - Okay, we've got milk. We've got honey, we got the eggs, and, uh, uh-oh, we no have vanilla bean. (Gonger gasps) - No vanilla bean? - Uh-oh. - Oh, Cookie, did you eat the vanilla bean again? Vanilla beans come from an orchid, a type of flower that grows on a vine. Farmers have to look every day for orchids on the vines because flowers only last for one day. Once the orchid petals fall off, the stem becomes the vanilla bean and continues to grow. They're picked when they're green. They're dried for a long time, until they become brown and shriveled. The beans are bundled and crated, and after a while, wrapped in wax paper and placed in airtight containers to keep them safe and fresh. This is what the inside of a vanilla bean looks like. Here's some vanilla to make your pup-cicles, Cookie and Gonger. - [Cookie And Gonger] Thank you, Mr. Farmer. - [Cookie] Vanilla! - [Gonger] Yeah! - [Cookie] Vanilla! - [Gonger] Yeah! - [Cookie] We're going home with vanilla. - Yeah, so what we do next? - Uh, well, me pretty sure it's the same thing we do at this time every day. - Oh, oh, yes, check the recipe! Here's what you need to make a dog toy, a pair of scissors, a ruler, and some old T-shirts. Having a bunch of different colorful shirts will make for a colorful and unique dog toy. (Elmo laughs) - Yeah, but Nina, how do we go from this to that? - Well, I'll show you. Step one, fold the T-shirts in half. (upbeat music) Make sure it's nice and straight. Then, we will measure a thumb's length across. That's about two inches. - Oh. - Yeah. - Who knew? - [Nina] Then we do here, that's our two inches. - [Elmo And Abby] Yeah? - [Nina] Ruler, straight line. - [Elmo] Look at that. - [Nina] Now we're gonna cut our strips. - Remember to ask a grownup whenever you're cutting something. - Nina, will you help us cut our T-shirts, too? - Well, of course I'll help you. I'm gonna cut our strips, here we go. And there we go. - Oh. - Nice strip, now, all we have to do is snip and snip. - Oh. (laughs) - Two strips, now, let's do some other colors. So now that we have all our T-shirts cut into strips- - Yes, we did it! - We did it, yay! (laughs) - Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, guys, hold on, hold on. Well, we're not done yet. Now it's time for step two, pick your colors. (Abby gasps) (Elmo laughs) - Um, okay, Elmo would like pink and yellow, please. - [Nina] Yellow, yes, here we go. - I want the one with all those really pretty colors on it. - Ooh, yeah, the tie dye? - [Abby] Yeah, that tie dye. - Yeah, tie dye, okay, what's your other color? - [Abby] Um, green. - Green, all right, here we go. And I will take the blue and the white. Step three, knot the strips together. So we're gonna knot these together like this. - All right. - [Nina] So we're gonna pull that out, and then you're gonna pull to tighten. Here we go, we got a knot. (Elmo laughs) - Yes, yes, we did it! - Yeah, we made an octopus, yay! - Wait, wait, but Nina, we're supposed to be making a dog toy, not an octopus. - What? (group laughs) Just kidding, you're right. So now we're gonna go to step four. We're gonna braid the strips together. Yeah, so spread it out first, and then we're gonna take one side and cross it over, and then cross the other way, it's just a crisscross. So criss and cross. (upbeat music continues) - Ooh, ooh, Nina, I want to try. - All right, let's do it. - [Abby] Crisscross. - Great job, Abby. Oh, Elmo wants to try, too. Criss and cross. - Criss and cross. And criss and cross. - Criss and cross. - All right, step five. Tie another knot at the very bottom. So grab the end. - Yeah. - Yeah. - And then you pull the little things through, and then you pull real tight. - So it's a knot? - Mm-hmm- - A braid and then another knot. - That's it. - Oh, that's easy. - Yeah. - Yeah, the project was fun! - I know, it doesn't even look like an old T-shirt anymore, right? - No. - Nina? - [Nina] Mm-hmm? - You forgot about step six. - What was step six? - Test it out on your doggy. Elmo's so excited for Diesel to meet Rogan and his family. (laughs) Are you excited? (laughs) - Hi, so you guys, this is Diesel. What do you think of this family? - He's soft. My dad and I take Digby on long walks, so we both get lots of exercise. Giving Digby a bath is a lot of fun. He likes getting all sudsy. And he loves to shake and splash water everywhere. We both get super soaked. Digby's favorite thing to do is to go to the dog park and hang out with all of his friends, big and small. He's really friendly. I love my dog. D, D, D. (Ernie snores) - I love my dog because he's very playful and if I'm sad, he makes me happy, and he's very cuddly. - I take care of my cat because I love him. I hug him and I kiss him. - I have a toy cat because I'm allergic to cats. - I talk to my fish, (laughs) it's very funny. I talk to my fish and I also feed my fish. - He's lots and lots of fun. He loves, my hamster loves me. - This is how I take care of Sunshine, by feeding it, giving it water, playing with it, and walking it. - I love my cat because he loves me. (dogs barking) - Oh, hi, Elmo and Tango are going to play with Dax. (Dax barks) And Ziggy today. (Ziggy barks) You can pretend to be a puppy and play with us, too. Sing and dance with us.
