In this video, we will teach you how to download
custom content for Sims 4.
Custom content adds player-generated objects
and character features into Sims 4.
To start, go to documents on your computer,
then go to Electronic Arts and choose Sims 4.
In this folder, there should be another folder
labeled "Mods."
If a mods folder doesn't appear, simply create one
with the same spelling and capitalization;
keep this window open.
Next, choose custom content of your choice online.
For this video, we will go to the popular website
The Sims Resource, where creators upload
their custom content for download.
Click on the object you would like to download.
To download it, scroll and click "Download."
When redirected, wait for the timer to prepare the asset
and hit "Download" again.
Once the content is downloaded,
copy and paste it into the mods folder of The Sims 4.
Open Sims 4, click the three dots, and go to "Game Options."
Go to "Other" and check "Enable Custom Content and Mods"
and "Script Mods."
Click "Apply Changes."
For the custom content to register,
the game will need to be restarted.
Exit the menu and close the game.
Relaunch Sims 4, and a pop-up should appear
showing what custom content and mods have been installed.
Hit play, and you'll now enjoy The Sims 4
with your new custom content.
If you go into build mode,
you'll see the custom content is available
to be dragged and dropped into your Sim's home.
You can easily find which items are custom content
by this wrench icon.
