  • Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, your virtual ticket to Japan today.

  • I'm doing a short introduction on health in Japan and I've been wanting you to do this for a long time, but I didn't know which direction I was going to take it and this is going to be called the glow up Diaries.

  • Japan edition and it's not going to be directly related to Japan, it's going to be directly related to healing the body um healing the mind and everything like that.

  • So as you guys know and may know on instagram, I have been posting about my allergies and my body issues and everything, my stomach problems.

  • So I've been the past couple of weeks.

  • The reason why I haven't uploaded in the past week and a half or so is because I was going to doctors like every single time I had off getting as much information as possible, I read two books in like a week and I figured out a lot about my body.

  • Sorry if I sound stuffy, I ate something I was allergic to and now my body is just inflamed right now.

  • So the reason why we're here today is because I wanted to talk about, you know, my history with doctors and what I found out and what I'm going to be doing going forward.

  • First of all I am not a doctor.

  • So if you are having some issues or similar issues like me, I think it's a good idea to go see a doctor or a natural path or somebody that can help you heal because everybody is different.

  • Everybody heals differently, which is why I'm going to be doing a lot of trial and error type stuff to figure out what my body needs and going through a lot of specialists and things like that.

  • So I not only created the series because I wanted to do a health series, I also created this series because I wanted to keep myself on track and I wanted to continue learning.

  • Um no matter where you are in the world, I think this will, you know, help or resonate with other people.

  • So I'm hoping that I can, you know, give some encouragement to people that are struggling with this kind of thing.

  • This is going to be kind of T M.

  • I, but I think a lot of people struggle with this.

  • I have a lot of gut issues, a lot of gut problems, especially, you know, since March this year I was struggling a lot and I didn't know why I've been to doctor after Doctor and in Japan the system, the medical system is so different that it doesn't always work for people.

  • A lot of people here go misdiagnosed, I have had my handful of experiences where I was misdiagnosed with a lot of things, especially pneumonia.

  • So a little bit about my history when I started when I moved to Japan, I was so excited, I wanted to eat everything.

  • So Japan has a huge food culture, they love food and so do I.

  • So there's a lot of local places, there's a lot of chain restaurants, there's a lot of sweets and desserts and things that you just, you know, you go crazy for and when I moved here I wanted to eat like all the sugar and all the rice and you know all the carbs, Japan is a carb heavy culture, they also eat a balanced diet as their own lifestyle here.

  • But when you're a foreigner and you're moving here, You want to just go to town.

  • So when I moved here I was eating so much sugar, I was eating until I was bloated and full and sick early 20's I was going out with all my friends and drinking karaoke, you know, Japan is a huge drinking culture too.

  • So um I was drinking a lot of plum wine and red wine and whiskey and all that stuff, so I was just enjoying, I was having the time of my life for the first three years when I was in Japan and then as things progressed, I, you know, started to get more sick as a teacher, you know, you're teaching kids, you're getting all their germs and stuff.

  • So I started to get a lot of sinus infections, I was getting a lot of sicknesses every other month and because I was getting sick all the time, I was constantly going to doctors, a lot of doctors didn't know how to treat me because medicine and Japan is much weaker than in the States.

  • So they would give me strong medicine or they would just hand me antibiotics, you pop in and they're like, oh I'll give you this antibiotic.

  • So I kept taking antibiotics.

  • And surprisingly I was taking the same antibiotic every time I got sick wherever I went, the doctor was like this is a general antibiotic for everything, which is kind of weird because I feel like you know, every sickness is a little different.

  • So you want to kind of diagnose it correctly and take the correct medicine.

  • But I was desperate to get better because as a teacher, you want to get back to work immediately and there's a lot of pressure as a teacher to get back to work immediately.

  • So I just took whatever they gave me and I went back to work after years and years of antibiotic therapy didn't really stop to think that oh it could be allergies.

  • So as some of you know, I'm allergic to soy and egg now as of this year and I was never allergic to soy before.

  • So that was really strange.

  • I used to be lactose intolerant and I used to be allergic to shellfish and peanuts.

  • I'm still allergic to peanuts.

  • I'm not allergic to shellfish or fish anymore.

  • Um but I developed an allergy to eggs and soy, which I eat all the time and I didn't know if I was allergic to it, but I think I was for a very long time and didn't know it.

  • So a girl on Youtube that I came across that she had the same thing with dairy.

  • She was getting sinus infections all the time, antibiotics, antibiotics, antibiotics, and then she found out that she was allergic to dairy, She's cut dairy out of her diet.

  • She had no more science infections.

  • Same with me.

  • So I did a little test a while ago, I tried to eat soy again to see what would happen and I ate Natto, I ate fish with soy sauce, I had rice, I had all that stuff that I normally would eat and I got so sick to the point where I felt like I had a cactus in my throat, my nose was so stuffed and I couldn't breathe, I lost my voice again.

  • Like I usually do when I get an infection and I got sick and then I stopped eating soy, I stopped eating eggs that didn't come back this year.

  • I haven't had a sinus infection.

  • I had bronchitis once.

  • Um but I was also eating things that I was allergic to.

  • So I was, I'm still, you know, having a hard time avoiding that kind of stuff.

  • So that is something that I really, really want to work on now because it's making me sick.

  • So I got another allergy task recently and that allergy test came out positive for tomatoes.

  • I was fine with tomatoes two months ago.

  • So it's very strange to me and things that came up positive was avocado banana And hazelnuts.

  • It's also very low allergen and it might not even be accurate because allergy tests are only 50% accurate.

  • But I know that I'm allergic to tomatoes because every time I eat them I feel pain in my body, I get white stuff on my tongue.

  • I have a swollen throat, swollen tongue, watery eyes.

  • I do not feel good.

  • I'm feeling bloated and sick and bad and depressed.

  • So I know that if I eat those things I'm allergic to it, that being said, I'm continuing, I'm continuing to be allergic to more and more things, which is very odd to me and I don't feel like myself, I haven't felt like myself this whole year.

  • This is something that's very serious for me.

  • So I tried to get as much help as possible.

  • I'm scared.

  • I was scared because I had a lot of problems with doctors in the past here in Japan.

  • The problem with living in Japan is people that want to get diagnosed with something and want an english speaking doctor were very, very limited.

  • There's only a few doctors in Tokyo that can help you.

  • Whereas if I were in the States, I could try many, many different doctors and maybe I can find the right one Or I can go to a natural path, which is non existent here in Japan at least an English one and you want someone that speaks english your first language so you can express your problems and not get misdiagnosed with anything.

  • I've been misdiagnosed a few times in Japan.

  • The first time I had pneumonia I was misdiagnosed which is horrible.

  • Went to the hospital, they told me I had an asthma attack.

  • I did not have an asthma attack.

  • I had pneumonia.

  • I went to an american clinic that did not take health insurance and most of the good doctors here do not take health insurance, their private clinics.

  • So I went to that clinic and he took my blood and said you have mycoplasma pneumonia but it's at its tail end.

  • And the doctors misdiagnosed me twice.

  • I was livid first of all because the fact that pneumonia was misdiagnosed is the scariest thing that you could ever go through.

  • I was traumatized by you know, regular japanese hospitals because they didn't seem to care.

  • They just gave me steroids and said hey you have asthma attack.

  • You don't have an asthma attack for two months of being sick.

  • So I was confused by that.

  • Every time I went to get get some cold medicine they would say here's some antibiotics.

  • So I took so many antibiotics and it all started in March when I started to get white stuff on my tongue.

  • I was feeling sick.

  • It was around the time when I first met you g so I was having so many problems.

  • My nose has been stuffed for months.

  • It has never cleared.

  • And it's very scary because you know all these all this inflammation is just eating my body.

  • So I've had a lot of you know miscommunication with doctors here, it's it's definitely difficult.

  • But if you're really sick it's good to go to a clinic that knows about you know american healthcare or european healthcare and that's what the Tokyo surgical and medical clinic is.

  • So finally I found a really good doctor does not take health insurance but I did not care because my health is very important.

  • So I asked her all of my I told her all my problems.

  • Um she knew everything about SIBO which is small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.

  • She knew about leaky gut, she knew about I.

  • B.

  • S.

  • All that stuff.

  • So we did testing for tm my stool tests because T.

  • M.

  • I um I have a lot of constipation and pain like I said before and she told me that she wanted to do a stool test.

  • Um I got blood testing done, I got an endoscopy done.

  • Everything seems to be normal.

  • The only thing that she's concerned on is my constipation and SIBO.

  • So the boat is my next test that I'm going to be taking next week.

  • I'm excited to get that because that's the last thing that I can rule out.

  • And she said if it's not that then it could be inflammation, chronic inflammation from antibiotic therapy or chronic inflammation from stress as well.

  • So stress and you know toxic medicines and you know, all that stuff could be affecting me greatly in the long term.

  • If that's the case, the only thing that you can really do to maintain it is diet.

  • And she's also very concerned with the amount of allergies that I have and developed so quickly.

  • So because of that it's inflammation of the gut.

  • Your gut is like your second brain.

  • So basically if your gut is off, you are off, which I have been, I've been very depressed, moody.

  • Um I haven't felt good.

  • I don't feel like myself.

  • I lost my creativity and my inspiration and it's getting worse and worse every day.

  • So my plan for this series is to get back on track and I've like I said, I've researched, I've read two books already and I contact so many people.

  • So my plan is to go to a dietician or nutritionist homey oh uh apathy.

  • There's a doctor here that's not a natural path, but it's a home a path.

  • And she just creates remedies for your body to heal um to reduce symptoms and inflammation.

  • So I feel like talking to her is a good idea and kinesiology and DFT meditation or reiki meditation.

  • So it's all about healing the mind and the body and the gut.

  • And it's so interesting to me, all of this stuff that I didn't know before and I wish I had known.

  • And the first thing that I really, really want to do is an elimination diet.

  • So an elimination diet is where you cut out all the things like grains, dairy, soy which I can't eat anyway.

  • The only thing I wish I could eat is eggs because that is something that you should keep in your diet.

  • But all of those things are cut out of your diet for a certain amount of time.

  • So like three weeks and then you start to add things back into your diet gradually.

  • And if you have a reaction then you wait three days and then go back again and try it again.

  • So you try to reintroduce foods into your system like as if you were a baby.

  • So that is what I'm going to be trying to do.

  • And I'm researching right now.

  • I have another book that I'm reading about um inflammation leaky gut I.

  • B.

  • S.

  • All that stuff.

  • So and then I'll be going to a nutritionist to talk about my symptoms.

  • I'm going to be keeping a food journal.

  • I'm going to do some simple cooking for your gut health and I think I want to show you guys what that's all about and show you guys what I do on a daily basis to get healthy.

  • Also I some of you guys know I suffer from anxiety.

  • I have G.

  • A.

  • D.

  • Which is generalized anxiety disorder and mild depression.

  • So because of that I really want to heal my mind as well.

  • So I have a couple of programs that I'm following now there's one program that's online and then the other program will be following is with my kinesiology gist.

  • So that kinesiology appointment is starting next week as well.

  • So I hope that I can heal, I know that I can heal.

  • I firmly believe that I can reverse allergies which is very possible.

  • As there are a lot of studies, especially one recent study in spain about how allergies developed and it's all about the missing bacteria in your gut or overgrowth of bad bacteria in your gut and inflammation.

  • So basically when your gut is leaking which is what they say, it's like a symptom of whatever you have, all of the good stuff just kind of leaks out whenever you eat it.

  • So I have a feeling that this is going to take maybe one or two years but I don't want to suffer like this anymore.

  • I know that it's possible to live good.

  • So no sugar for me for a very long time.

  • That is my goal for this series and I'm excited because it's not going to be perfect.

  • I'm going to make mistakes.

  • Therefore the things that you're going to be seeing in this on this channel is my experience with uh homeopathy.

  • I hope I'm saying that right, kinesiology, my cibo testing cooking for your gut meditation, anxiety tips and tricks like I said, I'm not a doctor, but these are my experiences and tips that you could try to see if they work and if they don't then you should definitely make sure you do things that are good for yourself, leaning out, organizing how I plan my day, how I plan my video, how I plan my meals, Everything like this is just going to be a very general lifestyle based series in Japan.

  • So I will be showing you some really good vegetables that Japan has that you can eat for your gut, if you live in this country, I will be showing you what it's like to meditate in Japan and places to relax and things to do, to relax here in this country, just out of curiosity for you guys back home and then hopefully you'll be able to find similar things where you're from as well.

  • I have the best fiance in the world because he looked at me and he's like, I can't wait to see the results, He agrees with all this meditation and all the, you know spiritualism and all the diet behind this whole thing, that is what we're going to be doing this series and I hope you guys will enjoy it, I appreciate the tips and the help, but um, I don't want to get too confused with everything.

  • So I'm going to be doing things my way for my own body and based on what my doctors say.

  • So I hope you guys understand that, but I do appreciate all your comments and um, if you guys do have any stories that you would like to share, a lot of you have sent me your stories with allergies.

  • One girl was allergic to everything and then she ended up becoming healthy and able to eat everything.

  • I really appreciate that message a lot.

  • I know now that I'm not the only one that's having this issue.

  • So and I, you can see that this girl has overcome it.

  • So I know that it's possible.

  • Anyway.

  • I hope this was a good introduction to the series.

  • The next video is going to be sort of like a day in the life of how I organize everything meal plan, my results of my tests and all that stuff.

  • So I hope you guys will enjoy that.

  • And then I'll also be doing a cleaning organizing video in Japan.

  • So this is going to be the lifestyle slash health series glow up diaries.

  • Japan edition.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mhm.

  • Okay.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Yeah.
