And this kitchen is called the shore break.

I'm gonna give you a tour of the room that I stayed up for one just one night.

I only stayed here for one night with my husband and my two pups.

So when I booked my room I booked a standard room with a king bed.

But when I checked in they upgraded me which is awesome.

So now I have like an ocean view and the room sizes pretty big which is nice since I have two dogs with me.

So I'm gonna show you the bedroom first and then I'm gonna show you the bathroom.

So when I walked into the room I was really pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was and I also liked that the view was incredible.

Um It's so nice to be able to see the ocean when you wake up unfortunately.

Um I got a little bit unlucky and it's been really cloudy and kind of like, I don't know gloomy but yesterday we had a little bit of sunshine so I'm happy that we got some sunshine yesterday because that was the whole point of coming here was to go to the beach with the dogs.

So when you walk in there is which is, this is kind of unique and record player and I did play it um and they have different record players downstairs if you want to get a different one.

So that's kind of fun.

I never really had that in a room before.

Here is the snack bar which I never really get anything from the snack bar and there is a fridge and here with more drinks and the hotel did not come with any water but brian and I were celebrating.

So they actually came up to the room and gave us a bottle of champagne which we put in the fridge because it was still warm and three warm cookies which were so good.

They were huge too.

Um So that was really nice.

This is um you know a little chest here but I don't ever put any clothes in the drawers if I'm only staying for one night because I'm afraid I'm gonna forget stuff and it's just easier to keep it in my suitcase which that's where my stuff is right there now the kimpton is very dog friendly.

So I did request to have two dog beds that's a little bit too small for my puff.

But I'm glad that they did have it just in case my pups didn't want to sleep on the bed with me.

So um the two pups slept with us on the king bed.

Um But it's like a sound erase there which I guess it is kind of nice to have if you have trouble sleeping but I had no trouble sleeping last night.

So it was fine.

But I can see why it might be kind of noisy on the weekends because the um you can kind of hear the cars out there a little bit.

I mean it's not too bad but um I can see maybe on the weekends it might be loud but I am staying on a week night so it was not busy at all and there's like one chair out there if you wanted to hang out outside on the balcony there is a large tv which we did utilize at night and on the other side of the bed is the phone and I think there's like a no pad and there was no pad in here.

So I thought that was really nice.

It's kind of an interesting little corner captain.

Really loved this chair and he would sleep in it like all the time.

Whenever we come home from outside or a walk he'd jump right on here.

He loves that accent chair for some reason and this is the big lamp right here which is a nice touch.

My husband actually had a zoom meeting this morning.

So it was nice that he had a spot to himself to do his work and get on a call and the wifi here works great.

So he had no trouble logging in and going through with this, the zoom meeting, there is a cooler here which you know we didn't need to use some glasses.

Um Guestbook, there's like a menu if you want to order breakfast and room more ocean views and I didn't notice this until it was a little bit too late.

But they do have social hour here and all kimpton's do have that but usually when I check in they mention it and they didn't mention it when I checked in.

So I thought maybe this kimpton didn't have it but apparently they did have it and I missed out but I did get the complimentary coffee and tea this morning.

They do have the s'mores downstairs.

But yeah, so here's the record player, we did stand on Tuesday night so I wish I would have known about this.

There is a gym here that has an actual climbing wall which I took a look at it.

So yeah, if you're big into working out while you're at a hotel, this is a great hotel to work out in.

Alright, so the bathroom is super spacious when you walk in, there's a little corner over here where the toilet is nice, nice touch there and then the counter space.

Oh my gosh, I love it.

Extra toilet paper, the blue dryer.

Um it didn't work very well unfortunately and I had really thick hair so it took forever for my hair to dry.

So that was a little bit disappointing last night.

Um They have lotion cotton Q tips have like this mirror here with the light on this side which is kind of dark in here and I hate putting on makeup when it's dark so the light does help but I wish it was like a little bit right in here but you know, but they have the magnifying mirror which I like to.

It felt so luxurious.

So I really enjoyed their amenities here and I like that there are environmentally friendly.

They don't just give you the little bottles that they actually have refill bottles.

The shower is nice and big.

The only issue was oh my gosh, the water flow was horrible.

So yeah, that was a little disappointed that we met with the knob up there and it was, yeah, it was useless because that was a little disappointing.

We had a little space down here where we put our dogs water holes.

We did actually use it last night.

The water was nice and hot and they even gave you, you know some salt and this worked really well too.

So it's nice and relaxing last night.

Taking a bath before we headed to bed, plenty of towels and um so yeah so overall like the bathroom is fantastic, nice and spacious um and the amenities that they give are fantastic and here is a little closet corner.

I um did use the bathrobes.

I like using that after I take a bath, have an umbrella and a yoga mat.

There's a safe down there and also there's like a clear check in and check out times.

So check out time is at noon and I did call this morning to see if I can request for a complimentary late check out and it is available if they have room I guess I could only get a certain amount of late check out but since I called early they were able to give me an extra hour.

Um Everyone here is super dog friendly actually, right when we checked in they took Polaroid pictures of Zoe and Captain and they put it up on their front desk check in where they have like all the pictures of the dogs that are staying that day.

I thought that was so cute.

The lobby is nice and like it's so warming and inviting and um there's like a nice courtyard area where there's like fire pits and sand and a lot of seating area.

I know there's a conference going on so a lot of the space is used for the conference.

I mean of course there's space still for the like normal guests that are staying here but a lot of it is being utilized for the conference.

There's still enough room for everyone to like sit down and you know chill out or I even got to talk to a lot of people that were down there because Zoe and captain always conversation starters.

People love to touch them and pet them.

We arrived check in is at four but I think I arrived around two and already had the room available.

So that was nice that we were able to check in early.

The beach is just right across the street but if you want to go to the dog beach it's about a mile and a half down.

So we did drive down, there is only a valet parking, there are self parking garages but then it's a little bit more because it's not owned by the hotel.

So it is best to go ahead and valet your car.

Um and everything else is within walking distance, there's like a coffee shop, there's a ton of shops like right on the street.

There isn't really a dog walking area.

But you know we walk the dogs around the hotel and that was just fine.

So you know if you're someone that is worried about a lot of dogs being around it might not be the place for you because it's super dog friendly.

And even um last night we were walking around there are dogs everywhere so that was kind of cool to see how pet friendly it was.

We also had dinner at the hotel and that was really nice.

We had a ton of tacos I think they're like fish shrimp and chicken tacos.

And then the dogs even had a meal, they had a dog menu which was very reasonably priced at $7 and they got chicken rice and carrots of course they loved it and they gave really generous portions.

So dinner was excellent and we got to sit outside on the patio, really nice weather.

Um the service was great and yeah and then and then we also had breakfast here in the morning, we weren't able to dine um and sit down so we took the food up to the room and we both ordered a burrito and that was really good too and they're really big so if you're not someone that eats a lot in the morning, you can probably share that burrito with someone else, which my husband and we thought, you know what, we could probably share this because it was a really big portion.

So that was my review of the short break hotel at the kimpton in Huntington's Beach.
