  • (This café makes South-Asian-inspired bubble tea.)

  • Pyo Chai is a South-Asian-inspired bubble tea café in Long Island, New York.

  • It was opened during the pandemic by two Nepali Pakistani brothers.

  • So, I think the cornerstone of Pyo Chai is, sort of, our South Asian flavors.

  • Those that people really, uh, appreciate and it, sort of, brings a... a nostalgic sense of your roots.

  • Pyo Chai has a variety of bubble tea flavors, from the well-known mango and pistachio to the more traditional South Asian flavors like masala chai, Rooh Afza, and malai.

  • Some of its drinks also include a scoop of Indian ice cream called "kulfi" and basil seeds.

  • My favorite flavor is the malai kulfi milk tea.

  • Uh, it's served with basil seeds, brown sugar boba.

  • We add a scoop of malai kulfi on top and drizzle Rooh Afza syrup on top.

  • I think this is a very rich and decadent flavor.

  • My favorite drink is probably the mango kulfi.

  • I remember going to Pakistan with my parents,

  • and we would sit by the water and take bites of mangoes, just repeatedly.

  • When I drink the mango kufli, I just think I'm biting a mango.

  • The mango kulfi milk tea is made with mango syrup, basil seeds, brown sugar boba, and a scoop of mango kulfi on top.

  • We love the Rooh Afza, too, and that just brings back, like, Ramadan vibes, you know?

  • -Yeah. - Like, when you're fafyou break your fast; you... you go for the Rooh Afza drink, you know, whether it's served with milk or water or tea.

  • Rooh Afza is a famous South Asian rose syrup.

  • In the Rooh Afza bubble tea, the rose syrup coats the cup, followed by brown sugar boba, and a classic milk tea recipe.
