You're going to be sheep ranchers. Ranchers look after animals and take care of them. Your job is to count the sheep and make sure all six are in their pen. - How many sheep are in the pen now? - [Rudy] One, two, three, four, four sheep in the pen. - That means we're looking for two more sheep. - Round them up, ranchers. - Help us find the sheep, too. Lets go, Rudy. - Come on Spot and Dot. Giddy up. Ooh, are those sheep? No, I think they're cows. (sheep bleats) - Rudy wait, what sound does a cow make? - Moo. - That's what I thought. - Moo. - Moo. - Baa. - Moo. - That's a sheep hiding with the cows. (sheep bleats) Let's bring him to the pen. (upbeat music) - I will help with the gate. We did it. - Don't forget to close the gate. - Great job. Now how many sheep are in the pen? - Let's count together. - [Group] One, two, three, four, five. - [Rudy] There are five sheep in the pen. - Remember, you ranchers need to have all six sheep in the pen. - Okay, that means that we need, what do we need? - To find one more sheep. Let's ride. - Abby, look. - [Basket] Those are animal tracks. A sheep made them. - Wow, let's follow them. - [Both] Huh? - Where did the sheep go? - Don't know, partner. Hey, that's a nice painting on that barn. - [Rudy] You can even see the clouds move. - Wait a minute. Paintings don't move. - It's the sheep. He's pretending to be a cloud. We're going to farm school. (Ovejita speaks Spanish) (crowd cheers) - What kind of stuff happens here at farm school? - [Steve] Oh, at this school all the kids that come here want to be either veterinarians or they want to be landscape architects. They wanna work with plants or animals. - [Murray] What is a veterinarian? - That's an animal doctor, Murray. - An animal doctor? - It is. - There are special doctors just for animals? - Just to take care of animals. - All animals need doctors. What kind of animals do they have on the farm? - [Karina] Ducks, cows, turkeys. - [Murray] What else do you do at farm school? - We get to feed the animals. - What do you feed them? Is it like pizza and sandwiches and stuff? - No, not human food. - They don't eat human food? What other kind of food is there? - Animal food. (upbeat music) - Steve, what are you feeding the alpaca? - They eat all sorts of grain. It has some corn in it and some oats. - [Murray] Can I try feeding them? - Sure. - Here you go. (Ovejita speaks Spanish) - Ovejita, I don't think they speak Spanish. - No? - No. - What is this place? - This is our poultry coop, Murray. This is where all of our hens lay their eggs. So when we collect the eggs, we're very careful. We put 'em in really gently, right? And we don't put too many eggs into one basket so that this way they won't all break. - Look, I found an egg. What else do they do here at farm school? - They learn about farming. They plant crops in the fields. Corn and carrots, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant. - All that stuff comes from a farm? - All from the farm. - Hey Karina, do you ever get to plant anything? - [Karina] Uh-huh. - What do you do when you're gonna plant? - You dig a big hole and then you put some seeds in and then you cover it and then you water it. - Oh my goodness, that sounds awesome. I want to plant. - One of the tools we use is called a hoe. We have to loosen the soil so air and water and nutrients can reach the roots. What you're going to do is just take the hoe. - Yeah. - Approach the soil. - Yeah. - And you're just gonna chop it a little bit. - Here I go, tell me how I do. - All right, go ahead. Excellent. - [Murray] Thank you. What kind of things do you plant here? - Carrots. - [Murray] Oh boy, what else do you plant? - [Child] I plant beans. - [Murray] Are these the same kinda beans that you can eat? - Mm-hmm. - What else, what else? Can you plant peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? - No. - No. - That looks good. I love farm school. (chicken clucks) Mrs. Chicken breathes and Elmo breathes too like this (inhales loudly). (chicken sighs) Boy, Mrs. Chicken didn't know we're the same in so many ways, huh?
