What TCB is. Here I am actually on the final mix of ELVIS.
And, you know, one of the really incredible parts of the journey on this film
has been in the same way that Jay-Z and I took '20s jazz and were able to work with all sorts
of artists to translate it into a contemporary feel. In ELVIS, you'll get classic Elvis,
but we're translating some of the music into a contemporary feel with an array of amazing
guest artists. You know, Beale Street's so big in the story, and we needed Big Mama Thornton. Dave
Cobb and I were recording down there in Nashville in churches, an amazing artist, Shonka Dukureh,
sings and we go, 'She's gotta play Big Mama Thornton.' Then, suddenly it's like, well, we got
Big Mama Thornton, who could possibly translate, you know, if Beale Street was now? Doja Cat.
There's more side to the story I'mma tell everybody...
