  • Oh, sounds like dog food.

  • What is that flavor?

  • Hey guys, today, my friend Emma Toki Toki traveler here on youtube has joined me.

  • We're gonna have some fun with you guys trying some weird japanese breakfast cereals.

  • How has your experience with serial been in japan?

  • What was your impression of the japanese cereal selection?

  • I feel like it's only recently that it's become a thing.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah, for ages.

  • It's just been sugar granola.

  • Like corn flakes, roasted corn flakes, sometimes grand flake.

  • That was all they had for years.

  • And just recently they're coming out with some creative flavors.

  • But I feel like they kind of skipped the step of good cereals and went to like crazy cereals.

  • We have seven cereals to try today that Emma and I have collected from our supermarkets and I'm really excited because some of them are pretty strange.

  • Some of them I think are going to be good.

  • Let's get started.

  • What flavor should we start with?

  • That's so hot.

  • You've got bread cereal.

  • I've tried this one before.

  • This is donut mark.

  • I'm so excited for this match to chocolate in my flake flavor.

  • This is vanilla ice cream flavored corn flakes frozen on it.

  • It has another toasted bread cereal this time.

  • It's apple cinnamon flavor and then this is nuts.

  • This is curry granola.

  • So I don't know what they were thinking.

  • I'm very intrigued by this roasted again.

  • My, so it's brown rice flakes.

  • They smell so good, freshly brewed.

  • Actually think I'm most excited for these ones.

  • They look really nice, like shiny and so this is what the flakes look like.

  • Nice and crispy of the sound.

  • They're not sweet.

  • I was really hoping they'd be sweet.

  • Really good.

  • Mm Oh wow.

  • I really love how strong the tea flavor is.

  • They really just taste like a cup of cold man.

  • I love these.

  • My family is at her supermarket.

  • Mine doesn't have them.

  • They're pretty rare.

  • I think I've only seen them a couple of times.

  • I would give that a nine out of 10.

  • I love those eight out of 10.

  • Just because I really like sweet cereal and it was like a little sweeter sweeter.

  • I'm actually thinking they're like very sweet.

  • Yeah, I think because I was expecting them to be unsweetened.

  • I don't know how you're going to do with it and what a cool souvenir that would be if you came to Japan and brought your friends like roasted green tea cereal next.

  • I want you to try the bread cereal.

  • Okay, you've tried this one before.

  • I tried it.

  • It was just horrendous.

  • It sounds good though.

  • Like french toast, a little sweet pieces of bread there, stretching it by calling it french toast flavor.

  • It just tasted like a toasted baguette.

  • Okay, I'm going to try and keep an open mind.

  • It smells amazing.

  • I'll give it that it smells smells very good.

  • It smells like maple syrup.

  • It's got pieces of strawberry and mango in it, which were the good part myself too much.

  • Yeah, definitely.

  • You won't want to eat that.

  • We got our toasted bread pieces are strawberries and there's a little mango there.

  • I'm worried that I'm actually gonna like this one.

  • I hope you do because I want you to keep the bag because I don't want to bring it.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • I hate it.

  • A lot.

  • A lot of the flavor is lost.

  • You smell it and it smells so strong.

  • It's like, oh, bread tastes like toast with milk.

  • Oh, and the strawberries are so intense.

  • They're huge.

  • They're huge.

  • And they're so like sour.

  • I know you're like fruit.

  • Maybe it'll be good if I eat it with the fruit.

  • Alright, I'm good.

  • Um I give this honestly a one.

  • It's not like repulsive.

  • So I'll give it a two out of 10.

  • I give it a four or five.

  • Okay, that's generous.

  • What we've got next.

  • We got the ice cream flavored corn flakes from frozen.

  • Feel like you can't mess that up.

  • Oh, it smells like an ice cream cone.

  • Oh, it's gonna be so good.

  • So it just looks like frosted cornflakes.

  • And imagine it smells like a soft serve ice cream from Mcdonald's mm hmm.

  • Kinda tastes like like lucky charms.

  • So sweet.

  • That's very sweet.

  • It's like a mixture of the flavor of the charm cereal coming down my nose when you breathe out.

  • Is that weird to you.

  • It is a very different taste like normal frosted cereal.

  • Mm I really like her.

  • I give this one an eight.

  • The flavor is very nice.

  • It's a little too sweet for me.

  • Like I wouldn't, probably wouldn't buy it to eat as a breakfast food.

  • But would you like a 7, 7.5?

  • It's yeah, it's not as good as the, I really like the whole idea and everything with the whole, So this one is like, it's a sweet, nice cereal.

  • Okay, next, we're going to try donut mart because this is the one I'm most intrigued by.

  • Its the flavor of glazed doughnuts.

  • Apparently it also says sugar taste.

  • Oh no, yes.

  • A she so sugar taste light sweetness.

  • So they're not too sweet.

  • And then there's lots going on in this package.

  • So it's got like a crunchy uh texture but also fun wadi, which means soft, so crunchy and soft.

  • They're really hyping it up.

  • Okay, this is another bread cereal disaster is the only one that I've actually had before.

  • I think I had him for christmas.

  • A little treat thing that shocked me was the size of the doughnut.

  • Oh, currently tell from the outside.

  • Oh God yeah, I was expecting a little cheerios.

  • They're really big, big one on the screen and I'm like, they're really big, wow.

  • Let me just smell nice.

  • But at this time.

  • The last packet I had smelled really weird.

  • Oh no, I knew it.

  • It's done by the same company as the bread one.

  • They're both by Nisshin Wait what?

  • Oh, I see what they mean by like crunchy but but fluffy.

  • It's like a very delicate texture.

  • That kind of dissolves when you bite it.

  • I wouldn't say that.

  • It tastes like glazed donuts.

  • This is kind of sweet.

  • But like, I don't know.

  • I couldn't place the flavor.

  • No, me neither.

  • What is what are they made out of?

  • Just flour and they're not bad.

  • Yeah, it's like a nice sweet cereal.

  • It's fun and the texture is nice.

  • But yeah.

  • Okay.

  • Well they're not bad.

  • Like the bread one definitely wouldn't buy them again.

  • They're not good enough to want to eat again.

  • They're not horrible.

  • I'd give them a five out of 10.

  • I really like the texture.

  • Mm I go seven.

  • I wish they were smaller.

  • I feel like if they were smaller I might want them again, you can only fit three on a spoon.

  • That's so weird.

  • Bread serial number two.

  • Okay.

  • This one sounds like it has more potential for flavor though, definitely apple cinnamon apples with the peel on.

  • They have emphasized that apples with peel and raisins in it.

  • All right.

  • It looks just like the other one smells like it too.

  • Oh, I don't like that smell.

  • Wait, I have an apple with the peel on it.

  • Like there's so much of its appeal.

  • What was the other thing raisins?

  • I didn't even see a raisin in there.

  • They're probably all at the bottom.

  • Oh, there's one going in the bag.

  • That is the hottest.

  • Oh my God, it's so tiny.

  • Oh no man, this is worse than the other one.

  • What is that flavor?

  • Who made these?

  • No, I really don't like that.

  • Like I don't even I really don't want to finish it.

  • My little bit of apple.

  • Mm So gross.

  • I'm giving this to mm Yeah.

  • I like the texture of the one reason that I okay, we need to treat ourselves.

  • Yeah.

  • That mess.

  • We got the Hershey's chocolate bits to white chocolate.

  • White chocolate.

  • This is the first time I've seen the macho one they always have like, this was kind of like a special one And it says that you can also eat it by itself.

  • You don't need to put it with milk.

  • You can use it as a topping for pudding or hot chocolate.

  • Oh no.

  • Oh, it smells like dog food.

  • Maybe the chocolate is all within so we can't smell it yet.

  • Okay, so it looks like this.

  • I thought it would look darker.

  • I don't like the appearance.

  • Let's say that it doesn't look overly because you're supposed to be the good one.

  • Yeah, this one looks great.

  • The package makes it look delicious.

  • No.

  • Oh there it is.

  • I was like, where's the flavor?

  • I really don't like it Again.

  • The outside is more like bread inside is so dry.

  • They're very dry.

  • They're not.

  • No, they're very hard and like it's very underwhelming.

  • It's definitely way too dry and the inside the chocolate part isn't like a like a runny chocolate.

  • It's just like hard, wow.

  • I really was going to be good.

  • Just like Kellogg's her, she's like really big names.

  • I thought they would have done a good job.

  • I'm really surprised that the plain version of this one has lasted so long.

  • Is it selling enough?

  • It must be good because they're everywhere.

  • Like I used to have rabbits and sometimes I would try their treats.

  • That's what it tastes like.

  • Again, I'd give that like a two.

  • Honestly.

  • As bad as the bread cereal.

  • Alright, are you mentally prepared for this?

  • I don't know if I ever will.

  • Let's read the package.

  • Like why did they come up with this?

  • So no mama granola.

  • So this one tells you not to put milk on it to just eat it as is so Alright, that makes a little more sense.

  • It's more like a snack.

  • Like a savory snack.

  • Oh, it's got chicken in it, dried chicken.

  • Didn't notice that I'll be sharing my chicken pieces.

  • Wait a ziploc bag.

  • That's kind of cool.

  • They've made it a ziploc bag so you can just have a little bit and then close it back up, throw it away.

  • It smells very good.

  • It smells like curry cup noodles.

  • I'm just hoping.

  • I'm wondering if it's gonna be good actually.

  • Well they're big chunks go for it.

  • Okay.

  • I don't like how sweet it is.

  • It's like it has the sweetness of a regular granola, but with a very curry flavor.

  • I thought, okay, maybe it'll be good because it'll be like a salty curry little dry snack.

  • Why is it sweet?

  • It's a shame because I feel like it's close, it's close to being edible.

  • I'm really glad we didn't eat that with milk.

  • Glad we read the package.

  • It would have been horrible.

  • But honestly, I prefer it to the bread cereal that chocolate match.

  • I think that was horrible.

  • I would give this a three Japan tried.

  • I like that.

  • You're getting creative with your cereals.

  • That gives us some hope that we will have some edible, interesting cereals in the future.

  • The only one that I really want to eat again is the tea flavor.

  • This was delicious.

  • This is so nice.

  • Alright, well, thanks for watching.

  • Which cereal would you like to try the most?

  • Maybe I'll do a giveaway because they're so yummy.

  • But like, I guess it is kind of fun to try a strange cereal from another country, even if it isn't the tastiest.

  • If you guys would like to give away, let me know which cereal you're most intrigued by.

  • Oh, go check out Emma's channel.

  • She also makes lots of really cool videos about Japan.

  • I will have her link down below in the description box and up in the corner.

  • Oh yeah, I will see you guys very soon.

  • Thanks for watching.

Oh, sounds like dog food.
