Homophones are words that are spelled differently but they are pronounced the same way. Our words today are sore which means painful or a wound on the body and soar which means to fly or rise rapidly. To say these words correctly, two little sounds, let's start with that s. Tip of the tongue is down back of the tongue is pulled up or the tip of the tongue is just behind the top front teeth. Air is moving out of the mouth. Next we're going to end with that or sound. To do that, pucker those lips, and then move to square tense lips for that r part of the vowel: or For that R ending the tip of your tongue is either down or flipped back it is not touching. Let's put that all together sore soar sore soar sore soar sore soar sore And now for a sentence: Without pain medication for the sore, the pain will soar.
