the Splendor Canal City Hakata in particular  takes full advantage of its location delivering  

a shopping experience where the neighboring river  is the greatest find of all if you prefer sand

Hokkaido when people consider winter trips with  a Wonderland of snow places like Aspen Colorado  

typically come to mind but if you want a winter  getaway and a Japanese experience rolled into  

one package look no further than the country's  northernmost prefecture Japan's second largest  

Island hokkaido's powder snow annually attracts  skiers to naseco for a no and the capital of  

Sapporo in addition to stimulating outdoor  activities like dog sledding and snowmobile  

riding the winter festivals will transport you  to another world of snow huts and ice sculptures  

Hokkaido isn't just for winter Travelers either  the island transforms when the snow melts with  

the summer season drawing people to the foreigno  Lavender Fields which is like a violet Rainbow  

on grassy land number eight shirakawago Japan is  often Associated these days with technologically  

advanced cities while you'll have no shortage of  options in that department those looking for a  

simple quiet getaway will cozy up to shirakawago  the highlight of shirakawa this small village  

feels like a bubble that's been Untouched by time  surrounded by mountains this world heritage site  

is defined by vernacular houses constructed in  the gashozukuri style where the draped in green  

plant life or covered in the whitest snow you've  ever seen few areas in Japan are more picturesque  

there are several hotels where you can immerse  yourself in the Tranquil country setting most  

notably onyardo yunosho where most Japanese  destinations will have you rushing from one

kamakora's status as a capital city has changed  throughout history it remains one of the most

number six Osaka in addition to being Japan's  third largest city by population Osaka is  

considered the country's economic Center this can  be primarily attributed to financial institutions  

like a soccer exchange and major tourist  attractions like Universal Studios Japan  

speaking of which if you can't wait until 2023 for  Super Nintendo World to arrive in Hollywood let's  

go to Osaka outside of these modern Innovations  Osaka is also grounded in Japanese history this  

is reflected through sites like Osaka castle and  the shitto energy Temple When the Sun Goes Down  

migrate to the dotonbori district where the  Billboards illuminate the night sky against  

the canal it's like New York and Venice roll  into one while still being distinctly Japanese  

number five Hiroshima Hiroshima will always be  known as the site of the first nuclear weapon  

City Bombing most of the city was lost during  World War II along with so many lives this city  

has since been rebuilt with a population of  well over a million but the ghosts of that  

fateful day in 1945 remain Hiroshima will be too  overwhelming for some to visit but It ultimately  

offers an enlightening experience for those  seeking to confront the past the Hiroshima Peace  

Memorial commemorates more than 140 000 people who  perished although integral to the city's identity  

Hiroshima isn't defined by this one event  and has many charms chicane is a lush Haven  

where many victims took Refuge today this Garden  symbolizes life finding a way in the wake of Chaos  

number four kanazawa speaking of gardens kanazawa  might be home to the most Heavenly Paradise in  

Japan kenroku and garden is the Capital City's  Crown Jewel containing Japan's oldest Fountain  

an ancient tea house and assortment of vibrant  trees the garden is arguably even more Majestic  

during the winter with snowfall garnishing the  natural beauty admission won't cost you anything  

either demonstrating why the best things in life  are indeed free a short walk away is kanazawa  

Castle where more exploratory opportunities await  for all its Rich history the city is also a modern  

Marvel featuring sites like the 21st century  Museum of Contemporary Art and kanazawa station  

for a taste of Urban life and the simple life the  omicho fish market is the place to be number three  

Mount Fuji Mount Fuji will appeal to three types  of Travelers four literally elevated sightseeing  

there isn't a more rewarding destination in Japan  as the country's highest mountain this active  

strato volcano is visible from several photogenic  Vantage points including kawaguchiko ten josen  

Park and Lake kawaguchi for some Travelers though  a selfie from a distance isn't enough to satisfy  

their thirst for adventure to be at the center  of the action visit between July and September  

and peak season for climbing Mount Fuji as high as  the mountain is trails are easier to conquer than  

you might expect if you're seeking a different  type of thrill perhaps you prefer one of the  

roller coasters or haunted attractions at fujiku  Highland an amusement park close to the base  

number two Kyoto Kyoto has been called Japan's  cultural capital for a reason it encompasses  

pretty much everything we associate with the  country contained in one thriving City golden  

temples and shimmering shrines accompanied by  monks check soothing outdoor Landscapes lined  

with bamboo and flowers raining from trees check  whether you'd rather watch Geisha perform or wield  

a katana at the samurai experience Kyoto checks  off everything on your Japan bucket list at the  

top of this list should be a trip to Kyoto Tower  the highest structure in the city start your  

journey by ascending to the towers observation  deck where you can take in as much of Kyoto as  

possible in one breath then head out and see it  all or close number one Tokyo Once Upon a Time  

Tokyo was a humble fishing Village known as Edo  today it's not only Japan's largest city but the  

most populated Metropolis on Earth in typical  big city fashion every corner of Tokyo brings  

a new experience with an endless assortment of  temples Parks restaurants markets museums and  

Towers including the incredible Tokyo skyshory  New York eat your heart out oh and on that note  

go ahead and grab a cocktail at New York Bar Tokyo  also gives California a room for its money with a  

local take on Disneyland and Disney sea while  a lot of world cities lack some distinction  

from each other Tokyo distinguishes itself with  lanterns and cherry blossoms giving the urban
