  • Good morning! day two of my experiment of  reclaiming my title as morning person. Kurt

  • and I got back from the US on the 15th of April  so almost a month ago and we have been relatively

  • jetlagged - I also think it's because the sun is  coming up earlier - but both of us have been out

  • of bed, productive happy people by 7amAnd I used to wake up like for high school,

  • for college, I used to get up I rememberset my alarm clock for 5:55am and I have no

  • issues like if my alarm goes off, I'm up. So  I really enjoyed that, I liked being up early

  • in the morning and in our old apartment it was  difficult because Kurt is not a morning person

  • so I didn't want to be noisy and starting my day to wake him up - because he gets out of bed

  • at like 9:00 if we're lucky, 10:00 usually. Now  that we have extra space, I have the ability to

  • kind of make a little bit more noise in the  morning. I'm going to try and really get back

  • to that lifestyle that makes me the happiestSo yeah I'm just making it a point to wake up

  • early, get out of the house, do something and I'm going to take you along, take you along

  • with me. So day two. It's gorgeous. Beginning of  May, perfect weather, stunning out. I somehow

  • managed to walk myself back to my normal walking path. I walked like literally an hour out of my

  • way cuz I'm just a creature of habit and I don't  know where else to walk, and I miss my trees.

  • So anyway I'm going to focus on getting home and I will see you guys there okay bye!

  • Hi from Seongsu! We're hitting a cafe, trying  not to get hit by cars, the usual. See you there!

  • Hey, checking in. It's 1, I think. I managed  to do a ton of my work and come out and read a

  • book for 2 hours in that gorgeous cafe that just  smelled like lilacs the whole time. I did - I

  • stopped in a thrift store. I'm about to peruseplant store. I'm not going to buy anything yet, I

  • just want to look at the options and thenspontaneously bought tickets to see Challengers

  • tonight. I asked Kurt and he's like not super  interested in seeing it and I am, so we're going

  • to go see that as well so I'm going to kind  of pop home, make some lunch, but yeah it's

  • just been - it's this perfect weather. If you're  ever wondering, 23° C is * and I'll see you at home.

  • Hi we missed the bus and

  • now we are a little late to the moviewe're going to be right on time which

  • to me is late so power walking butwill see you after the movie!

  • Okay a quick check in. I don't know what that movie was - I didn't like a lot of it but I had

  • a good time. I walked out of it having had  fun. I laughed so much at a lot of things.

  • Tennis has been a part of my life for as long  as I can remember - will always be that girl.

  • Love tennis. So it was just like, I loved how  they portrayed tennis and I had a good time.

  • I had to sit like, the last probably 15  minutes of the movie, I had to sit like

  • this so that I'm - I'm a very like vocal tennis  audience member which is why I don't go watch

  • tennis because I scream so I had to literally  like force myself to shut up for the last half.

  • Good time. But anyway Kurt and I are going to  find dinner. We don't know what we want so I'm just

  • like meandering around these back streets of Apgujeong which are so bizarre because it's just churches

  • and homes - I like never come back here. Oh  Kurt's calling me so I'll see you later!

  • Hello, hi, happy Friday. Still  trying to figure out like first of all I need

  • to like figure out literally just where to put  things, but also where to put myself. I will be

  • filming in strange places in strange angles for  the foreseeable future. Yeah welcome, welcome to

  • the new house. This is - what - day three? Day three of becoming a morning person again. I just really

  • love waking up early. I've never, I've been really  fortunate - I know that a lot of people genuinely

  • cannot get up in the morning, I'm married to  one of them, I've never had an issue even in

  • high school - like I used to have to wake my mom up to drive me to school. I was not the teenager

  • that you had to drag out of bed. I was like my  alarm is off, I'm out of bed, let's get going. And

  • so like I said earlier, Kurt is not that so just  because I didn't ever want to mess up his sleep

  • because he is actually much more attached to  sleep than I am - I was always like oh I'll just

  • live like a quieter existence in the morning. Now  I can make like a full breakfast and tea and

  • stuff like that without worrying about waking him  up which is so great and I just feel like I get a

  • lot more done. I've always been more productive in  the morning. It was true for school, it was true for

  • when I was working in an office...after lunch: game over. I am checked out, I'm done. Also one thing that

  • I always wanted to do in the mornings that I could have done but I just felt guilty - I don't know, I

  • used Kurt as an excuse to not do this. I always  want to wake up and again, I'm more productive so

  • the chances of me studying and studying well, the  chances are much higher so I used to really think

  • of like 'oh I'm going to go study Korean like for  an hour every morning' and now I don't have the

  • excuse not to anymore. I've set up a Mirror work  session for all of the classes that I want to

  • work on in the morning because I will put things  off and then when it gets to the evening I'll be

  • like, I'll do it tomorrow. So I want to giveshout out to the sponsor of this video which

  • is Skillshare. Skillshare is an online learning  platform with classes in everything - I cannot

  • stress to you. But I actually just posted  my second class on there. They have a lot

  • of great resources for the creative professional  whether you are like a graphic designer, whether

  • you are a social media manager, if you want to do  YouTube. So my two classes are geared towards

  • having a YouTube channel. My newest one is about organization and setting up schedules and dealing

  • with sponsors and things like that. I created this class because there's so much content about how

  • to film and edit a video, but there's so much that  goes on behind the scenes of a channel that needs

  • kind of boring structures like calendars and  financial tracking and things like that but

  • it's just been so essential for me for organizing  my life. So I really wanted to help you guys with

  • that, so I have a lot of my own templates, my own  calendars ready for you. You can duplicate it and

  • use it yourself and I hope that it brings your  channel to the next level or makes starting a

  • YouTube channel feel a little bit less dauntingThey also have a lot of learning paths which

  • are - they curate their courses into one learning  path. Since they have so many resources, it can be

  • a little overwhelming so they just kind of funnel you through, if you have a goal in mind they have a

  • learning path for you. I'm personally looking at their color grading classes right now which is

  • exciting. So yeah thank you so much to Skillshare, I have a link in the description box - the first

  • 500 people to click it will get one month free  of Skillshare. I will also link my class if you

  • would like to listen to me talk to you. Thank you  as always and yeah I'm excited, I'm excited for the

  • productivity. And so I've just been feeling - I am  mentally in such a good place recently. It's not

  • just because I'm waking up early and being activeIt's just this perfect combination of a bunch of

  • different things - the weather has been so niceit is the my absolute favorite temperature in

  • the world, we had quite a few days of amazing air  quality so I could see far in the distance and I

  • could take my walks without having to worry about  anything, also just a change of scene is very

  • reinvigorating so the fact that we're now innew home. But also yeah waking up early has really -

  • I've just feel like I'm not even getting more  stuff done but like I feel less guilty about quote

  • unquote wasting time because even today - I played  tennis, I came home, I took a shower, I posted my

  • book video and I was answering comments and thenjust sort of I made breakfast and then I was just

  • sort of like lounging about answering comments and  just kind of wasting time online - even now having

  • done that, having quote unquote wasted a lot of  time online, it's only 10:45. I still have a lot

  • of the day left and I just put in laundry - likejust feel like I can fit more stuff in in order

  • to have lazy time. Cuz I do think that - I've been  thinking about this a lot actually. April was the

  • month of like really long car rides and airplanes  and just like waiting in airports so I've been

  • thinking a lot about kind of the importance of  of boredom and the importance of free time. I find

  • that the quieter times are when you find a lot  of inspiration what I want to work on now, my next

  • step along with being less guilty about wasting  time, is wasting time correctly. I don't want to

  • be scrolling on social media, I want to just be  like laying around, like staring out a bus window.

  • I found that recently I've been like either  scrolling on my phone or answering emails or

  • things like that on the bus when I used to just listen to music and look out the window and like

  • it's okay to not be productive in those times, like I can ride a bus without also answering my

  • work emails, you know? So yeah I'm just like working  on that of giving myself more time and because of

  • that I can have more quiet moments - does that  make sense? So I think for today I just finished or

  • I just put in a load of laundry so I need to wait  for that to finish. I'm going to just kind of

  • pitter patter around the house, try to put a couple  things away and it's a 3-day weekend so I don't

  • know what we're going to be - what we're going to  get up to but I have a little bit of work to do.

  • I might head out a little bit later and get  a coffee and sit outside cuz again it's just

  • really nice, the air quality is not good today but  but yeah. Let me know are you a morning person, what

  • are your tips? I've tried so hard to be a night  owl and I just can't because I will wake up early

  • like even if I stay up until 2am, I'm going  to wake up at 7, at 8 maybe. Yeah let me know your

  • tips for either one. I know it's easier in summer  when we get more sun so hopefully I can like

  • really get this down and by winter I can keep it  up. So anyway I'm going to go do all the things I

  • said I was going to do. I hope you guys are doing  well and I'm kind of using this week as well to

  • brainstorm future content so let me know what  you're interested in seeing and I'll catch you

  • later okay bye! Speaking of having time to waste,  I fell asleep. I set a 10-minute timer and then

  • that went off and then I just continued to sleepIt is 1:30. I think I clearly, I just needed rest.

  • So yeah now we're going to - I got changed, I'm in I thrifted this just like potato sack of a dress.

  • Will be my summer uniform but let's take out  the trash, go read a book - maybe I need caffeine, who

  • knows! But that was a lovely afternoon nap, now we got to read!

  • Hi! Strange day today. I've had  plans to go to this cafe in the kind of Dongdaemun

  • area but because it was so rainy this morning, I  decided like no let's not, put on this tiny jacket,

  • was like I'm going to go get coffee across the  street and then I saw that the air quality was

  • beautiful and I just kind of wanted to be outside  more. I got on a bus not really thinking like oh

  • I'm going to be very cold, not prepared. So  here we are. I don't really...I'm...slight reget

  • but I'm excited to see this new cafe, be indifferent area. It suddenly got noisy

  • We're in the kind of Dongdaemun Area. Went  to the gym today, trying to like create a routine

  • so that that becomes more natural. Oh my God  that is the cutest puppy oh my God I think

  • it's coming towards me hold on I'll try and get  it for you.

  • Anyway we're going to go get coffee, and read a book and enjoy this stunning air quality.

  • It's just way too cold

  • It was really warm and now it's not and  my body doesn't know how to adjust so...

  • I have some work to do but as I am eating my  pasta I'm going to watch the Dead Boy - Dead

  • Boy Detectives. I'm almost done. I'm buddy watching it with Olivia. Yeah two more episodes. Okay see you!

  • Hello so I'm just finishing a load of laundry.  I'm actually going I need to grab my sketchbook

  • I'm going to take a figure drawing class. Likesaid, I'm trying to get into when I have time,

  • actually doing things with that time that I have  always said that I want to do. Skillshare has a

  • learning path for build your foundation and figure  drawing and it has like basically from beginner to

  • slightly less of a beginner and then hopefully by  that time London will be awake and I'll be able

  • to finish up some of my email work and things  like that. That's the plan so let's see this

  • Okay JK, he told me that if I want to do figure drawing, I need to actually know how to draw and

  • I'm not quite certain I know how to draw so now  I'm going to do the how to draw a beginner's

  • guide course.

  • Okay so I can read romcoms all day. I  love reading a romcom. For some reason

  • I can't watch them. So I pretty much watched  until the first kiss scene and then I fast

  • forwarded until the very end and okay, okay  that's fine. I'm actually going to try a new

  • tennis place and they - you have to makereservation so we got to go. But yeah

  • happy - what is today - Tuesday. Happy TuesdayIt was a 3-day weekend because of children's

  • day and I feel like everything's  out of whack happy Tuesday!

  • Oh my God on that note, I think we got to end the  week here. First of all, something I just did at

  • the tennis court - just a reminder, I know that  I talked about it before when I was like trying

  • to learn guitar )and I put that down oops) or  like drawing or anything like that - I always say

  • that it's okay to be mediocre at something. You do  not have to be the best, as someone who has put a

  • lot of hobbies down because I wasn't immediately  the best at them. You're allowed to be just like

  • enjoying something and not doing it very wellobviously with my guitar - but one thing with tennis

  • is also remembering that you can lose skills  and you have to build them back up and it's

  • like not a bad thing to have to kind of return  to the basics. So I haven't played tennis in a

  • couple months and my forehand sucks I have noeven though I'm right-handed - I have no muscle

  • in this arm. So my backhand is fine but I ended  up switching to the beginner level instead of

  • the amateur level - there's three, four levels - but I lowered myself to the beginner level

  • to practice my forehand to just get the form and  the strength back so that next time I can play my

  • normal level. A part of me like as I was hitting  the beginner button, I felt bad because I felt

  • like I had worked so hard to not be a beginnerThat's okay. We're always fluctuating. So anyway

  • this week a success, definitely. Kurt andboth of us, Sleeping Beauty has been up before

  • 8:00 this week. We've been waking up early. I feel  like I have just had so much more time during the

  • day. I've been more productive and not stressed  in terms of like household things. I tend to like

  • put those off, hence why you've seen me doing so  much laundry is because just with the move and

  • everything like we've had laundry that has needed  to be done and stuff like that and cleaning the

  • windows, putting stuff away, like we're still moving  obviously - like we haven't hung any art or anything

  • we're still doing little things around the houseso I was able to do those but also film a couple

  • videos that I have to make. I've still had time  to read and just like go to a cafe. I don't know

  • I'm feeling just very at peace, like happy that  I have been able to do all the things that I

  • want to because I've given myself literally four  more hours a day cuz I wouldn't really start work...

  • maybe I'd go for a walk early in the morning but like I wouldn't start working and doing things

  • until probably 10am on weekdays because  that's when Kurt would like leave for work. I've

  • literally gained four 3 to 4 hours a day and  once I'm productive in the morning I feel like

  • I want to be more I just continue to be productive  throughout the day versus if I'm a little bit slow

  • in the morning I might still be slow, you knowit's just harder to get started. Overall I'm so

  • happy and I have a pretty wicked blister on my  thumb from playing tennis two times a week when

  • I haven't played in a very long time so I hadPeppa Pig Band-Aid - fell off immediately.

  • Thanks a lot Peppa but that's my only complaint for the week is just that I have a blister. But

  • yeah I hope that maybe inspired you guys to try and get up earlier if you can. I know that it's a

  • real luxury for me to have so much control over my schedule. I know a lot of you guys are working

  • around work or school or kids or things like that so yeah I'm very thankful that I was able to

  • move things around but we'll see if - how much  I can continue this because this week I'm actually

  • meeting up with e- veryone's here in May. I feel like  I said everyone was here in April, everyone's here

  • in May. So I have a lot of friends from abroad who are here for one week only - need to see them

  • all. So yeah I think this week, this upcoming  week is going to be quite busy and hectic but

  • we'll see if I'm able to kind of continue getting  up early and starting the day strong. So anyway

  • just thank you so much for being here and I'll  see you guys next week. I don't know what's going

  • on, I don't know what's going on but I'll  see you there and thanks again to Skillshare.

  • There will be a link in the description box, first  500 people to click it will get one month free of

  • Skillshare and my class will be linked down  below as well. Thank you for everybody who has

  • taken it already and yeah I'm going to  take a nap and then get dinner with Kurt and

  • yeah - going to the gym and then playing tennis  in one day was not my best decision but we

  • live and learn. So I'll see you guys then. You  really got like the most beautiful weather and

  • then kind of the most cold, it got really coldit's going to be cold for like 3 days. Cold

  • and strange weather. So I don't know what's going  on

  • but - we'll see what happens next week okay? Bye!

Good morning! day two of my experiment of  reclaiming my title as morning person. Kurt
